Shanghai Disneyland officially opens it doors June 16, 2016. The park has been going through trial runs the past few weeks now however not everything has been open nor is everything running at full capacity. Since we are quickly approaching the opening day for the highly anticipated park I thought I would start a thread with opening day coverage and festivities.
Shanghai Disneyland facts
Located in Pudong, Shanghai.
Construction began on April, 8th 2011.
The park was originally set to open in late 2015.
The park cost over $5.5 billion to build.
Disney only owns 43% of the park, the rest is owned by the Shanghai Shendy group (Shanghai government).
The first Disney park without a Main Street, instead has Mickey Avenue.
The hub of the park is called Gardens of Imagination inspired by the Chinese Zodiac.
Home to the largest Disney Parks castle in the world.
