Opening Ceremonies at WDW Parks

Does anyone have any information on opening ceremonies at any of the parks? How does one become the official gate or park opener for the day. Maybe I am using the wrong terminology for this request. I would really appreciate any information. Because in October, my son will be celebrating his twelfth birthday. It would be a real cool thing for him if he could do this. Thanks in advance.

It's by luck.

We have done it during a trip last October. We were on e of the first families in line and they decided that they needed another family and they asked us to participate. They also pick families in advance the day prior to opening. Just like being Grand Marshall of the parade I don't think there is anyway to arrange for it in advance..
