Oops...forgot to cancel Amazon Prime

starting to be unhappy with the Prime "2 day shipping". placed an order in November; shipped UPS GROUND from CA, I live in MA there is no way that product would get across country in 2 days. I contacted Amazon and they extended my membership for another month for free.

I ordered a new front door lock set; other one is not working properly. Placed order Tuesday, should have been here yesterday tracking said out for delivery yesterday so my cousin planned to be at my house to install the lock this AM. no delivery yesterday and today tracking says:

In Transit : Delayed

Sorry, your package is delayed because an issue with the carrier.
Original expected delivery date: Thursday, January 8, 2015

Amazon is dropping the ball with the 2 day shipping. Add in all the problems I am having with my Amazon Fire Stick I am really on the fence about renewing my Prime Membership. Have always been a big fan of Amazon but it seems like things are going down hill.

I find sometimes there are delays during bad weather in the winter. Even if it's not in your specific area, it can affect the overall transit time.
Either way, I'd probably schedule an installer a couple of days after I was expecting a package. It usually is on time, but occasionally...
Overall, though, I love Amazon Prime.

thanks it was delivered a while ago. My cousin works weekends so today was a good day for him to help me out. my door is not securely locking right now and wanted to get it done today. Guess I should have just gone to Home Depot after work. I suspect that it was the USPS that was delivering the package and may have caused the problem, there was no UPS tracking #.

Now I really feel stupid. I checked on streaming TV shows last night, and was surprised to learn that it isn't free. I thought that was one of the perks of Prime membership; didn't realize it only gave you the opportunity to pay for renting or buying movies.

You have to look for the Prime banner as PP mentioned. Lots of free stuff, it's how I got hooked on Sons of Anarchy and Friday Night Lights. My DD has watched several series and my DH is always watching movies. It's not ALL free, really no streaming service is but there's lots there if you dig around. The easiest way I've found is to filter through the app on my iPad. When I find stuff I want to watch I add it to my Watch List and that carries over to my TV/other devices mKing it easier to find. It's ever evolving, stuff that wasn't free becomes free and sometimes stuff that was free goes to being paid.

Oh, great!! Thanks so much, everyone, for clarifying that for me!

This is what I use Prime for:

One free book a month on my Kindle
Free two-day shipping
Streaming of TV shows I've missed on my Kindle
Free downloads of certain movies (I love old movies) for plane trips.
I have my account linked to Amazon Smile and the car rescue I support gets money

Just with that alone, I feel it is worth it. I love NOT paying for rush shipping and I buy a lot of presents over the holidays. I MUST have had at least $100 in shipping alone.

We really SHOULD stream on our TV. I think that is my goal this month, to make that happen.

I too started with a free trial period- over a year ago now lol. LOVE prime-love not having to think about grouping purchases and pay shipping (disclaimer-we are independent contractors for a couple fundraising companies and the higher end prizes we like we can get from Amazon cheap-and ship directly to client!). Also the free books, music is nice too-although I am really looking at Kindle unlimited. I have CC that gives 3% back from Amazon purchases (and using Ebates for more money back)...well I am a big local vendor fan but there are times Amazon is just very budget friendly...and I will be renewing my Prime membership. We've used the option of "slow" shipping to get the credit towards books or apps several times and have several dollars of credit now as well. I kept the original Prime membership as a "we will see how it goes" trial and now will keep it (at least until it's priced out of reasonable range:rotfl2:)

Found it thank you

Thanks, I just followed your instructions and I found it too. :thumbsup2

So now, let me ask....if you see something in a store, you can scan the barcode of that product with the Amazon scanner and you will see how much the item costs on Amazon?? Is that correct? If so, I'll definitely be using it as I'm a Prime member too.

Thanks,

Karen :)
