Oops! Can I still ride the rides with a CAST!

OK, so we leave in 33 days and I go and break my hand! I have to see a hand specialist tomorrow to find out how long I might be in a cast! Does anyone know if I will still be able to ride the Rollercoasters? Can I cover the cast and still ride the water rides? I tried calling Universal but didn't get anywhere. Was told it was up to the operator. I don't want to fly across the USA, just to stand around. I looked into rescheduling, but airfare is way up, and the hotel would be more. Has anyone had to go with a cast? Was it horrible? Thanks for your help!

Most of the rides allow a leg cast. Some of the rollercoaster do not allow an arm cast because of safety reasons. You could accidentally hit the person sitting next to you. If they can ppstion you on the outside seat on the coaster so your arm is not able to hit anyone, then they will let you ride. So it is up to the operator on the coasters. On the other rides, it won't be a problem.

The rides that may not allow you to ride are the Mummy, Dueling Dragons, and Hulk. But there is a chance you might be able to ride those 3 rides. It depends on the type of cast (does it bend at the elbow?) and if they can place you away from other guests so they don't get hit by your cast.

Yes you can.....I wore a FULL arm steel cast for 11 months and while it was a pain you can do it............

I know for a fact at Busch Gardens on rides like Sheikra they do not let you wear hard casts, only soft casts. Not sure on Universal's policies for roller coasters. You should be able to ride most of the stuff though, no problem.

My daughter (about 6 or 7 at the time) broke her wrist about a month before our USF trip. She had one of the short casts that did not take up her whole arm.


We have pictures of her on Mummy with her bright blue cast.
