I also wanted to ask about banking. When you own at two resorts for the same UY do you have to specify which points to bank?:confused3 I'm really not sure that I understand how this works. Does it really matter which ones get banked?

Thanks for the help. Too much information is overloading my brain.:)

It's entirely up to you which points (and how many) are banked. If you only want points from one resort banked you can specify that when talking with MS. They are your points to do with as you wish.

If you own at two resorts it could matter depending on what resort you may or may not want to book between the 7 and 11 months. In a year you aren't going to travel you would bank both contracts. But if you own AKV and BCV and have a trip planned for AKV you may want to consider banking BCV so you can take advantage of the 7 to 11 month booking window, by maybe even borrowing from AKV contract to get the needed points. After the 7 month mark it really doesn't matter because your points become valid at the other resorts, therefore you could use any contract to book a stay. I hope I explained this correctly...Simple answer, you would specify which points when you bank.

As already stated, you tell MS which points you want to bank. It's your choice depending upon the plans you have for the points. Another thing to be aware of is that the points in your master contract and any add-ons to that master are considered "pooled" when calculating banking percentages. For example, let's say you have a 200-point SSR master contract and a 100-point AKV "add on" contract. You are in your 50% banking window and have not banked any points so far this UY. You could bank all 100 AKV points at this time even though that is 100% of your AKV points. Why? Because you own a total of 300 points across your two related contracts so you are allowed to bank up to 150 points in your 50% banking window and those points can be any combination of your SSR points and your AKV points. So you could bank all 100 AKV points and 50 SSR points, or 150 SSR points and no AKV points, or any other combination of points up to 150 total points.

I have a question on banking. I am currently in the process of buying a resale @ SSR. It was listed as 19 points currently available. I plan on taking a vacation April 08. I assume that these points need to be banked. The problem I have is that I don't know when they should be banked. I called DVC memership and they say I am not in the system yet. My use year is Dec. Can anyone shed some light for me. Thanks

If you have 19 current points - they are from the 2006 Use Year and will expire on November 30, 2007. You are still within your 50% banking period (thru the end of August) and have until the end of September to bank 25% or your points. So, depending on how many total points are in your contract, you may be able to bank all of those 19 points - UNLESS - points have already been banked during this Use Year. In that case, any points already banked would count towards the remaining percentage for the year.

Just keep checking for your presence in the DVC system and bank those points ASAP.

Enjoy! :)
