Better do this now while I've got time!

The players:

Me, 21 (twice, plus one for luck :rolleyes1 if you can't work it out stick with 21 and make me happy :lmao: ), overweight and middleaged on the outside, dresses in princess gowns and sparkly accessories on the inside :thumbsup2
DH - 41 (but still not used to 40), responsible for getting me hooked on Disney so has to suffer the consequences despite not "getting" it in the same way:rotfl:
DS(14) - "Treat me like an adult" - well, we have to pay adult prices, but he's not getting any beer! Likes rides, cowboys and guns, embarassed by his parents (especially me ;) )
DS(8) - Loves Disney, still thinks his mum is beautiful :lovestruc and wants me to wear a princess dress to match my tiara
G'ma - my mum, 68 but mind hasn't quite caught up with that yet

Back story
If you're about to go out, ahve a saucepan on the hob, are ready for bed...... just skip this bit and wait for day one!:rotfl2:

Like most of my generation (in the olden days before videos were invented) our Disney experience was:
Trips to the cineam in the school holidays (One cinema - no multiplexes!)
Disney films (occasionally) at Christmas
"Disneytime" clip shows from Disneyland/WDW at Easter and other bank holidays
Dreaming about going to Disneyland if our premium bonds came up

When DH and I got married, as I had all the fun of the frock he chose the honeymoon. We went to California, had 2 days in Disneyland and I was hooked! It really was the "happiest place on earth", even for a cynical Brit! Immediately decided we would return on our 15th anniversary, which coincided with the 50th birthday:thumbsup2
In 2003 G'ma treated us and my DSis and family (4 kids who come between my two in ages :faint: )to a trip to DLP. Both DS promptly hooked by Disney magic (slightly jeopardised by DS14(then 9) going on Indiana Jones Backwards:rotfl: )
2005 - made our trip to WDW - DH says he's "done" Disney now. I say nothing but plot in secret.........:cool2:

So here we are, now only 2 1/2 days before we set of for DLP. I am determined to do girly things this time, so although I haven't managed to get a Princess meal (they're only doing lunches :sad2: ) I have bought a tiara to wear. DH thinks I'm mad, DS14 doesn't believe I'll wear it, DS8 thinks I look beautiful and insisted I wear it to pick him up from school. Anyone ever sat in a playground surrounded by children and their mums wearing a glittery tiara when they hadn't even had a :drinking: ?

The weather forecast is less then perfect, but we're going to DLP and staying in the Disneyland Hotel:woohoo: :yay:  :cheer2: I've got Walt's booked for Monday dinner, Buffalo Bill for Tuesday and my Shareholders club card in my wallet. New camer, new batteries, charger, comfy trainers.

I'm good to go!

Have a fab time .... think I am there over the same few dyas as you !

Lets hope the weather stays bright and cheerful - just as we will be :)

You go girl!!!:cool1: :cool1: You sound like a woman after my own heart!!

Me and DD always appropriate Disney headwear- usually minnie mouse or tiara's and ignore the looks we get from DH and DS(DS is 16 and will only wear black
). I only wish they did princess dresses in my size (I'm a size 8 on the inside really:thumbsup2 ).
I too have a DH who said we would never go to DLP - he's now planning for the 3rd trip this year thanks to the APs he brought us during our trip in February!!
Have fun especially staying at the Disneyland Hotel!!

Can't wait to hear about it all, especially the pink palace!! Oh and lots of tiara pics please.

:rotfl: Yes im still shocked when I look in the mirror ,and im not a size 8 and look like giselle :rotfl(I have ears and a tiara for our 3 princesses trip in august)

Underneath my fat, I'm actually quite thin! :lmao: OK I'll never see size 10 again (or 12 - who am I kidding :rolleyes1 ) but I really need to get ot my summer weight as I'm running out of clothes that don't make me look like a sausage :sad2: Luckily I won't need the strappy tops next week:rotfl:

Great to read your pre trip report.
We are also going to Buffalo Bills on Tuesday, 6.30 show so will look out for the tiara. I have mickey ears with the blue flashing hat!! but looking forward to getting my cowboy hat!!

Have a fab trip. BTW I am packing my waterproofs and tiara too.
We also have dinner booked at Walts on Monday, I'll be the one with the DLP board croc on the table!!

Have a fantastic time and wear your tiara proudly!

:surfweb: You sound just like me and my siblings! :rotfl2: My brother and I just started a "Biggest Loser" weight loss contest (US TV show) from now until we leave...wish me luck...I have to get up those stairs at Notre Dame! I might have to get a tiara!princess: Have a blast!

I shall be looking out for a lady in a tiara. If you see a similarly aged, very slender (on the inside) woman grinning at you - chances are that will be me. :goodvibes

ETA: I will be with a very excited blonde girl who will be talking. Doesn't matter when you see me, she will be talking

Fabulour pre-trip report, have a fantastic time and looking forward to pictures and full report on your return.

You go girl -enjoy wearing your tiara :goodvibes

Have a fantastic trip - cant wait to hear all about it :thumbsup2

I'll be looking out for you all - But I won't wear my tiara to BB as I don't think its appropriate headgear for that venue:rolleyes1 :lmao: Also it might get squashed by my free hat:rotfl:

I've made tags for all of us with lime green Mickey heads - mine say MazdaUK (der!) - its supposed to be so if DS(8) gets separated he can point to his and hopefully if someone's seen us they can find us (his has my mobile number on the back as well). So we should be fairly easy to spot:rotfl2:
