Oogie Boogie Bash Halloween 2023 Super Thread

It was definitely not pretermined when I went, they let people pick and even said you could change your table if you were not happy. I changed twice before settling on this one, wasn't sure if they'd remove the heat lamp.

I imagine the more you go towards the Tomorrowland side the worse seating gets. This picture was from seating about 2 rows of tables in from the walkway. I decided to go with that because I wasn't sure if they'd remove the freaking lamp. lol Unfortunately I can't recall how far towards Tomorrowland the tables were set up.

I wasn't there ridiculously early. They had staggered arrival times it seemed, and my time was about half an hour after seating started.

It could have been way worse for me personally. I was pleasantly surprised. I will admit that I did decide to risk it because I love the Halloween fireworks but was a little worried about the crowd as I was going on a DCL cruise only a few days later and that seemed like a good option to see my fireworks while risking the exposure to potential germs.

That is really good to know and seems only fair to do first come first serve. Maybe they changed it!

That is a really good view and looks like one of the better tables. I'd be curious on the experience of the people seated in the tables in front of you if they had a poor view like in the videos?

Well at least two of them were filming with their phones. So either they were desperate or the view wasn't that bad.

One of my local friends said that they had significantly cut down the hedge around Plaza for the viewing area bit at some point after the package started being offered.

I've only seen one video myself, that was definitely taken from a front table before the hedge was cut.

So this year, with the Plaza Inn packages being for dinner and not desserts, am I understanding that you dine inside then move outside for the fireworks viewing? Or are you dining outside as well?

It says you can pick any seat. Plus the times I saw were well before fireworks. So I assume this is like the parade package, you dine, get your lanyard and then show up for the seating later.

After seeing everyone talk about dining during mix-in, I booked Carthay Circle Alfresco so I have a calm place to catch a seat and people watch as the costumed arrive. Also, that pear martini sounds divine. Thank you all for the idea!!

We did that last year and it was great to take a break and see all the costumed people going by!

Great catch! Explains now why 60 day out reservations for those dates were delayed and didn’t appear until recently.

We are doing our first OBB this year so we are very new to what happens here. Trying to decide if the parade dessert party is worth the time it takes from the party. Is it crowded normally to see the parade? Can we easily find a spot without having to go an hour ahead of time? This is why we would consider the dessert party. What is the view like of the parade from the party itself? Thanks so much for any help here.

It says the characters will be in costume, that is what intrigues me most. I have only done one character meal without kids, do the characters stop and chat with people who appear grown up? The one I went to only one character stopped by our table. It was very disappointing. Wonder if it that was typical. I don't need a big production or a lot of interaction, but I would like a picture real quick.

Generally you can get a very good view of the parade without waiting long. We always have gotten our spot about 10 minutes before. Maybe 15 at most.

August 29, 2022 was the foodie guide release date last year. And Halloween season began September 2, 2022 so yup, pretty close at only 4 days before.

What in the heck???? DISNEY you are messing with those of us who enjoy salivating over the photos and spending weeks in advance daydreaming about all the treats we're going to try!!!

Yes, absolutely. They should stop at every table.

That was definitely not typical. I've even seen Chip and Dale trying to engage a businessman who was trying to work on his laptop at the character meal at the Grand Californian in the past.

It's very rare I have young ones with me, normally I am a solo adult. It's happened maybe three or four time that I was skipped (and at least one of those times it was due to the stupid layout at Plaza to begin with), and then I mentioned it to a CM and it was handled.

We've had one meal where an adult friend of mine and I were at a table, and the characters kept running back to us so often that a CM had to remind them they had other friends who wanted to meet them too - we had Japanese plush and ear hats that they kept playing with.

We like Goofy’s Kitchen for just this reason. They will visit every table. Minnie’s at the Plaza Inn, not so much. We have been placed in the corner several times and are by large parties with small children and we have been skipped many times. I have had to repeatedly talk to the character CM.
