Oogie Boogie Bash – A Disney Halloween Party 2024

That’s awesome! Didn’t know they pose for pictures!

Also don’t worry, that’s chipmunk is probably gonna be me in a few weeks too 😂

Technically and officially the most that is supposed to happen is a selfie with the villain in the background.

Unofficially you can get really lucky and catch their attention some way. Then they will pose and you'll get a 'distanced meet' picture in the immediately past Covid time style. It's a big factor how busy the treat trail is as well, this is why I had ruled the Hades treat trail out as 'not gonna happen' immediately.

I've seen Gothel offer it to a great Tangled group. Cruella's trail was dead and she came over when I asked. Syd did pose for pretty much everyone he noticed trying. Mim offered to me last year because of my costume, this year I saw someone asking and they got it. Agatha is pretty cool about it too, her trail has quite a bit of quiet time - maybe that changes with the new show. Oogie does seem to pose sometimes, but that may just be his routine and we snapped on the right moment.

Ernesto will be pretty hard, I am not even sure if he can see past the stage. Doofenshmirtz was constantly moving and had a very long line too, so that's probably a no too. I've honestly never seen or heard anyone trying with Yokai. Doom was very hard to even try with the set up.

My party of 6 attended on Sunday 9/15, and I was amazed at what we accomplished. Considering that our party had 2 EVC's, 1 wheelchair, 1 with special needs, and somewhat frequent bathroom stops, we still managed:

- shopping, a dining reservation at Trattoria, and lining up for The Sanderson Sisters between 3 and 6 pm

After 6pm:

- Sanderson's meet
- Oogie treat trail
- Ernesto treat trail
- Doofensmirtz treat trail
- Hades treat trail
- Madam Mim treat trail
- Pain & Panic meet
- Mr Smee meet
- Judge Doom treat trail
- Villains Grove
- Agatha Harkness treat trail
- Yokai treat trail
- Stop for Num Num Cookies
- Frozone meet
- Ember meet
- Joy meet
- Woody meet
- Sid treat trail
- Rode Toy Story Midway Mania
- 2 of us rode Incredicoaster

I was impressed with how much our group was able to do in one night. I wanted to share for those who might be on the fence as to whether or not to attend in the future. We all had fun!

Anyone who has attended recently have a report of the parade and how hard it is to get a seat?

It is very easy to get a seat for the parade. The parade route starts back by Boardwalk Pizza & Pasta/Silly Symphony Swings and goes all the way through the park to Hollywoodland. If you want a front-row seat, stake out a spot that appeals to you 30 minutes before the parade, keeping in mind that if the parade starts at 7:45 by Silly Symphony Swings, it won’t reach Hollywood land until maybe 8:15 (my guess). I have always watched the first parade so I’m not sure if second parade goes in the reverse direction (starting in Hollywoodland, hopefully someone can chime in).

Any tips for Pain and Panic? What time were they out?

Honestly, I don't remember what times. We met them Sunday, and again on Tuesday at very different times. If you go and see Hanz from Frozen, they seem to alternate with him. I would recommend hanging around if you see Hanz, or even getting in his line after he's been there for 15 minutes. I don't think characters usually stick around for longer than 20 minutes.

Does the Headless Horseman come by at parade time or 5 minutes before? 15 minutes?
It was 15 minutes in past years. I think they make sure there is little to know music playing when the headless horseman goes by. In past years we found a place on the curb near award wieners 30 minutes prior. We usually found a seat then got a snack. It was the only time we took time to rest all night.

I’m (hopefully) including a picture I took of waits around the park at 10:07pm the night Sunday’s party— wanted to add that we did Madam Minn’s treat trail right after this and we were like one of 6 (non-employee) people in the entire treat trail area, and she chatted with my kids, teased my husband (in costume as hades) and then suggest we take a group photo (don’t know if it helped we were all dressed as villains)— so it was a great time to go, BUT then we got stuck about 5-10m waiting to cross Cathy Circle as the headless horseman came by and we waited for the poop scoop team. Someone may have mentioned this upthread, but it’s not like the MK version of the party where the headless horseman simply rides by; first Ichabod Crane comes by and you hear some of the narration from the movie, which was more engaging, especially if you’ve seen the movie 1727081696723.png

For the past few years, my friends and I have always watched the second parade. The second parade route is the same as the first. Starting by the Silly Symphony Swings and ending in Hollywood land.
Hope that helps!
