Do the onsite resort shuttles go to both Sea World & Discovery Cove?

How do you catch a shuttle back to the onsite hotel from Sea World/DC...is it easy or a hassle? What I mean is, are there specific pick up times, etc. or will we be hanging around waiting for one to appear?

Also, how much longer will taking the shuttle back and forth be than driving yourself (since I'm assuming that they pick up/drop off at each onsite hotel.

Thanks for any info!

The onsite hotels have shuttles for Sea World, Wet and Wild, Aquatica daily.

Information on the shuttle times can be obtained in the hotel lobby.
If you need the information now, you can email the hotel or call them for the shuttle times.

When I was there last October, there were 2 different time periods for the shuttle in the morning and a time in the afternoon.
Depending on when you travel, could make a difference in the shuttle times the hotel offers.

The shuttle goes to all three onsite hotels.
There are some times it also includes the partner hotels for this transportation.

Take that into consideration for the travel time if you are using the shuttle.

Some have posted inthe past that they have used the free shuttle to Sea World but have taken a taxi back to the hotel as they did not want to wait until 5ish for it.

Taxi rides could range between $5-8 for the one way trip.
I'm sure the taxi ride would be faster since the shuttle makes numerous stops.

Parking at Sea World is $12.

If you took the free shuttle in the morning and a taxi back to the hotel later in the day, you would still come out ahead by not having to drive and pay a parking fee.

I think a taxi is the way to go then. We will have our car, but would like to leave the driving to someone else.

Do you know if taxis are always available when exiting the parks at any time? I guess I would include DC in that question as well. I know at WDW they were everywhere at park closing time, but I didn't notice so many if you left earlier than that.

Which are the best taxi service or does it matter?

There are cab stops as you exit Sea World which is right down from the G lot tram. You'll see the signs.

Make sure if you take a cab that you tell him to go the most direct route. Orlando cab drivers can be such crooks. Last trip we went to Mall at Millenia. The cabbie on the way back went past our exit and took the next one resulting in a $3 more fare than the way there. My son said, "I could see the smoke coming out of your ears." I asked the driver why it was three dollars more expensive and he said, "Oh then just pay what you paid on the way there." The driver on the way to the mall even went way out of the way. Next time, I am giving street by street instructions because they figure tourists don't know anything.

I was always told to only use the taxis that have a meter.

the yellow taxis such as safety, yellow cab, seem very honest.

also, ask before you get in, what is the approximate charge to get where you are going. ie, seaworld to universal hotel.

surely, a regular cabbie would know, or have a decent idea, how many miles it is from sw to the hotel.

Oh, we used only taxis with a meter and I do believe they were the yellow cabs but if they purposely go the very long way around, the meter runs up. When I drive from the hotels to the mall it takes me a lot less time than it takes the cabs. They insist on taking the expressway when going along the sidestreets is much more direct.

i haven't had that problem but if i did, you can bet what my tip would be.

do what you said you would in your other post.

tell them the streets to turn on.
if they do, then they will realize you know the route they should be taking.

i don't like that at all to hear homies are being taken advantage of on the cab/taxi rides!

it's the same in chicago.
some cabbies feel if you aren't from this area, they take the "long" way.....
i have gotten out of cabs at stoplights here when that has happened to me.
