My family of 4 are staying in Disney in August and I've just booked our FP+'s 60 days out.
A while back we booked a dining reservation and made it 8 people as we're meeting family for a couple of days while we're there - but they're not staying onsite. As part of the booking I added them to my 'party' as friends.
Question: Can I associate their park tickets (bought elsewhere) to their names - and then make FP+ bookings for them? If so, can it still only be 30 days out?

Yes and yes. Because there is no on-site resort stay associated with them you can't make FP+ selections for them prior to 30 days out.

Many thanks! :thumbsup2

Is the only way to make FP+ bookings by having a Disney account at https://disneyworld.disney.go.com ? I'm thinking of them when it's time - do they need an account, then associate the passes and then make the FP+ reservations - or is there something easier (other than me doing it all for them!.. :rotfl2: )

To make FP+ selections they would need to either have their own account with all of their tickets linked, or if you were the one responsible for making their FP+ reservations their account would either need to be linked to yours or their ticket info added to your account.

If it were me, I'd have them make their own account and FP+ selections. :upsidedow

Yes them making their own acct is best. Otherwise they need your MDE info if they want to make changes. But you can add them once they do to your friends and family list. You can plan and make their FPs but if they chose to change anything they can do that under their own MDE.
For us my oldest daughter and her 2 kids, my middle daughter, her husband and baby, are all on my Friends and Family list. I can make their FPs when planning sometimes we don't get exact time. Just make sure all overlap. Like if 1 set is for 10:45-11:45 other set is 11:15-12:15...then you all go starting at 11:15 but before 11:45. One of our trips there were 11 total so overlapping was huge but we were always able to ride together.
