Onsite for May celebration ???????

When I planned our first family trip to Disney a few months ago, I had no idea this celebration thing was going to be going on during the time we are going to be there. :confused3 I was intentionally trying to avoid major crowds. We get there around 2:00 on Wednesday, May 4, leave around noon on Sunday, May 8. We have PS for CRT on Thursday, May 5, which I had been planning to be our MK day, but now I'm scared. Should I try to get CRT on another day and if so, which one? When you say it's going to be crazy, is it going to be crazy like peak-summer-crazy or just more-than-your-usual-early-May-crazy? Also, do you think all the other parks will be packed during this time as well? Help! I'm in a panic! :worried:

lklasing....
Hi, are you new???

Of course, you may get different views on this... While I am not a Disney 'expert' I have been doing a ton of research, online, etc...

I was like you, I knew it might be kind of busy, but just HOW busy???

Now that the hours and schedules have been released - I personally believe that Thurs.5th at MK will be a huge madhouse.... First, you could possibly have moderate crowds for this time of year. But, add in the big celebration... now you have slightly bigger crowds.. Add in the EPCOT (which is a huge park usually hosting thousands of visiters) will be closed by 3:00 that afternoon... this will shift HUGE numbers of guests to MK... Then, add the one big night for Spectro during this time frame... Well, what more can I say... We will be AVOIDING MK on the 5th..

You know, now that the hours are released, maybe there are a lot changes going on, and perhaps you could luck-out on snagging somebodys cancellation of Cinderella's CRT for another day. I know I am cancelling our reservation for the 5th. Here is the 1-800 number where you can get through to Disney Dining (800)828-0228

Basicly, other that this one situation, which can be planned around, I think this will be a GREAT trip for us!

Happy Planning!

Wishing on a Star - I am kind of new, although I am a perpetual lurker. :earsboy: I have put a request for the itenerary planning people to try to switch me to Friday the 6th, so we'll see. If they can't do that, I guess we'll go ahead and go on the 5th (can't tell DDs that we won't be going to CRT at all!) but then bail to another park when MK gets too crowded.

Thanks for your reply! BTW, where are you from, being a proud Southerner? I'm from Birmingham, AL.
