Onsite Disneyland hotels?

I was wondering if anyone could give me some reviews on the onsite Disneyland hotels? Which is the best to stay in and which is the cheapest?

Is it worth paying extra to stay at one of the onsite hotels or should I just stay at one of the good neighbour hotels?

How much per night will each of these hotels cost us? I will be travelling with my fiance (so just the two of us).

Thanks!

There are several of great threads already running right now on this boards with these same topics and so much info. It's hard to know where to start looking, but if you know the right key words, it will be a start.

Also - go to the golden bar at the top of each forum thread and click on the DL Resorts link. That will take you to the information pages on this board.

Here are the key things to look for...

Paradise Pier Hotel - PPH
Disneyland Hotel - DLH
Grand Californian Hotel - GCH

This site also has the most wonderful travel agency - Dreams Unlimited Travel. You can access them from each page of these forums - in the Quote section at the VERY TOP of the page.

Have fun!

Onsite will cost you a lot more than offsite - but both have benefits. DLR hotels have unlimited MM entry, and disney atmosphere, whilst other hotels can be closer and a much better price.

I always check out Tripadvisor.com for reviews. PPH is usually the cheapest and GCH is usually the most expensive. From the reviews on Tripadvisor, I concluded that unless I can get a killer AP rate, or the buy 3 get 2 free deal that equals to better than a killer AP rate, it's not worth staying onsite. Imo of course. Except for GCH, the offsite hotels are a closer walk to the entry gates.

Thanks for your replies.

I tried searching the boards but too many things came up. I will try the abbreviations and see if that gives me better results.

I didn't realise that there were links on the golden bar at the top of the boards. Thanks, i will go and have a read now!

Does anyone know if the Disney hotels include breakfast also?

No they do not, but if you want to pay for a character breakfast you could do that.

In order of cost
Paradise Pier
Disneyland Hotel
Grand Californian

You need to take in some factors before choosing a hotel. Do you mind a motel 6 type of bare bones hotel or do you want a 4 star hotel with fancy sheets, spas, and luxuries. Do you mind walking a mile each way or do you want to be close by? Do you mind using ART, public transportation, hotel shuttles and/or cabs or would you prefer being near the main entrance?

I cannot recommend anything really as that is up to you. You need to read the board for hotel questions and read reviews online. The internet is like a bountiful feast waiting for you to dive in.

As for staying on site versus off site you do get to enter DCA from the GCH and you get more MM early entries if I remember right and some other stuff. I would love to stay on site because there is just something special at staying on site as far as I am concerned. However I also do like the idea of saving $50 to $100 a night on a hotel room that could be used for food and transportation for example. Romance is where every your heart is even if it is a Super 8 motel.

Check jetblue vacation packages I could stay in the disneyland hotel with airfare and tickets for the same price as staying at the desert inn and buying my tickets and airfare separate.

On-site does not offer unlimited MM entry. It offers MM entry on the days of the week it is offered - Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday.
