Only part of party on dining plan?

I apologize if this has been asked before (a lot). My family is planning a trip to WDW, and a friend of ours will also be coming, but will stay separately. We will probably get the dining plan; she probably won't. Will there be any problems with me making reservations for all of us? Will we need to get separate checks so she can pay her portion?

No problem for either. When your waiter/waitress comes let them know who is and who is not on the dining plan.

You can make the reservation for the whole party. Just tell the server which persons are on the DP, they will make two seperate checks.
