In May, we are meeting my brother in Orlando for a 3 night getaway. My 4 year old son and I are going down to Orlando a day early, just the two of us, and I would love to stay in a Disney resort that he will think is "cool". Any suggestions? (we were just there at the beginning of Nov. in a time share condo for a week, so we don't really care about being close to a particular park)

Thanks!!

Depending upon your budget..

YC/BC has the best pool...even for a 4 yr old.
POP Century has great kid stuff...my boys love the over sized big wheel and other stuff to climb on..
Poly also has a great pool

I would stay at allstar movies. My DH refuses to stay there but I think my boys would love it. With only two of you, having a small room would not be a problem.

for sure with a 4 yr old! It's a value but nicely updated from the Allstars, so you will not have tp spend a bundle, but it'll be great fun!

Be sure to have a look at the POP photos with him and then he cna choose an are to request! POP is new ( a yr old) and outside is full blown for kids, but rooms are understated..have the cute Mickey boxed soap and shampoo's etc...(Allstars has liquid soap dispenser).

Here's some nice photo links!

I would choose AKL. It is a beautiful resort and I think your 4 year old would love looking at the animals. Plenty to see and do at AKL without ever leaving the hotel. Lots of activities for children (cookie decorating, animal viewing, organized pool games).

pirate: My DS is completely fascinated with the monorail passing through the Contemporary Resort (and come to think of it so am I) :teeth: . I'm sure your DS would think that was pretty cool, too!

Welcome to the DIS!!! Do you have a budget? I stayed at Pop for a week last Feb with my 4yo and we liked it a lot. It was hard for me to justify an expensive resort when we really didn't need the space. We're going back to Orlando on Wednesday and are staying at POR for 4 nights, an offsite timeshare for a week, and then Pop for 2 nights. In January I'm bringing another son and am staying for 2-3 nights at Pop and then 2-3 at POFQ.

Have fun deciding!

I would also say AKL. It's so exotic and fun. You can have a great time without leaving the resort.
