Only One Day - is it worth it?

We are huge Disney fans around here. My almost 5 year olds (twins) have been to Disney World twice - but we've never been to Disneyland.

We just found that my son was granted a Make-A-Wish to Legoland today. We'll have one "free day" to do as we wish, and we were considering making the drive to Disneyland and spending a day there.

We're a little worried that it'd actually be worse to spend some time at Disneyland, but not have enough time to slow down and enjoy it.

If you recommend going, are there things that are different / special over DisneyWorld that you would recommend we do?

Thanks for your help!

Will you get everything done in one day? Nope
Worth a trip anyway? I think so

It's Hydroguy's guide to Disneyland for WDW vets. It's probably more in depth than you really need, but if you scroll down a bit you'll find a list of DL attractions that are not at WDW.

Whatever you decide I hope your son has an amazing trip!

I would do it. I'd go into it with a plan of which attractions I really want to see and not worry about seeing everything. I would not worry about going over to California Adventure. Get there before opening, use FPs well, and you'll see a lot and at least experience what it's like and hopefully someday you can come back for more!
