:rotfl2: only in the suburbs of Chicago or Chicago can you wake up to a thunderstorm in the middle of winter. It was pouring and thunder woke me up this morning. It is January! thank goodness it isn't snow that is coming down right now. Wew, I'd be shoveling for the next several days.

we had a thunderstorm here in atlanta in the morning-- thunder and lightening -- not spring yet :confused3

We had a huge thunderstorm here last night too! Complete with tornado warnings. The sirens even went off at 5am. At least it wasn't snow! Whew!

Same thing here in the Cincinnati area. I'm enjoying the 60 degree weather, but it won't last long!

Thank goodness it is not snow. Stay safe in the St Louis and downstate area, watches are there......

I heard a LOUD thunder crack and I thought to myself, no way that was THUNDER..it was!

My favorite has always been a beautiful March day, sitting out going to the park and then 3 days later a snow... this area messes with you weatherwise

Yep and its 1pm and it is still raining in Chicago. Like said before "at least its not snow" I hate snow, I hate trying to drag my kid's through it and I hate digging out my car.

I live 40 miles north of Milwaukee. The weatherman just said, we have had 1 1/2 inches of rain, if it would be been snow, we would of gotten 18 inches of snow. I guess for every inch of rain equals 12 inches of snow.

Right now it is 40 degrees outside, but it is suppose to drop tonite, and starting Wednesday, an inch of snow is predicted every day. I don't know what is worse, shoveling that little inch every day or this stupid rain.

I was shocked to hear the thunder too! I am so happy it is rain and not snow. We really have been lucky so far this winter with the weather. We really only had about a week of cold and it wasn't even that bad.

I think (hope) it's a sign that winter is over here. We already had more snow in December than we do some years in the whole season. Of course, I do recall one year, about 10 years ago, where it was snowing on Father's Day! At least it was on the lake front where we were celebrating at the beach!

I'm thinking (hoping) in 2 weeks it will be sunny and 75 degrees! :sunny:

Nobody wake me up from my dream!

That's supposed to be happening here in Cleveland too tonight-- hey, anything's better than snow!!
