Hi all you Diser's :goodvibes

I know we have only just got back but .........:woohoo:

Have just booked for next September - Virgin flydrive with 4 wheeldrive trailblazer, 2 nights deluxe hard rock hotel then 12 nights in gorgeous villa:cool1:

This is first time doing part of it DIY so was nerve jingling but did lots of research - there are so many lovely villas out there but feel that we have one in lovely area close to disney - owners have been really helpful.

Looked at booking everything independantly but the flydrive, hardrock and car worked out cheaper thru virgin:banana:

Soooooo excited already - have not told kids yet - any ideas for novel way to tell them???:cool2:

Sounds like a great adventure :cool1:

How old are the kids? I am sure we can come up with some great ways to break the news!

well done!!!! we will be there next September to, havent booked yet though!!
how about telling the kids on Christmas day , maybe using disney clues, 2tiggies has done a lovely book for her daughter, maybe you could do something on the same lines :wizard:

:thumbsup2 Sounds great!

I have pretty much decided that I will tell my kids like this: wake them up the morning we go - show them the cases and say, 'Where do you think we're going?':goodvibes You could pretend your children are getting up for school and land them with a HUGE surprise!

I told mine on Christmas Day that we were going to DLP once - it lost its impact because they were a bit overwhelmed by all the Christmas gifts/excitement of the day in general.

Think i would explode if had to wait until christmas:rotfl2:

rather than the timing how would you actually tell them?:worship:

ps

just had to cover the lap top as my daughter just walked in:rotfl:

Congratulations on your booking!

I read a great trip report where the parents did a treasure hunt for their kids - the final clue told them they were going! I would love to do that but can't resist chatting to DD throughout the planning process!

Let us know how you get on :)

Well if you don't want to wait unitil Christmas you can start giving "hints". Not by saying anything, but you could make a puzzle/wordsearch, buy one or two little themed items like stickers or crocs jibbitz (Disney ones) - sorry I don't know if they are boys or girls so you would have to improvise appropriately, hire or buy a Disney DVD, get a Disney recipe online and make a Disney meal or dessert, get someone going over there to send them a postcard ..... you do these things all one by one at random intervals over a period of time until they start to ask questions. Then you make a Powerpoint or Movie presentation on your desktop or laptop that SLOWLY unfolds the story before announcing it. By that stage they should be well primed.

This is probably going to sound kind of lame but my 8 year old will be having his tonsils out in the school holidays so I think Im going to make a little treasure box of things from previous trips with our new holiday villa info and a little aeroplane in it and present it to him when he is feeling scared or poorly :sick::yay:
