~Only Disney could make sorting trash fun~ UPDATED 12/23

LOVE your DHS updates!!! We have never been to the playground or American Idol!! They both look amazing! We love the B&TB show...has me laughing and crying every time! I am so glad that your little ones got to meet Handy Manny! That was a highlight for us this past trip!

This guy was directing people where to go.

Super cool Alicia! It also looks like we weren't too far from eachother for Block Party Bash!!!:goodvibes:goodvibes
Your DHS day looked like so much fun! You guys really packed it in! It was a great touring day and the park wasn't too crowded either!! I LOVE the pic of your niece with the Up guys! She was slowly warming up to the characters! We missed seeing Handy Manny and I know my kids were bummed, he is tops on their Playhouse Disney list! Great Beauty and the Beast pictures, I love that show so much!!

Thanks!! :goodvibes

I'm wth you when it comes to B&TB! I always tear-up towards the end when Belle's crying over the beast. :sad1: Even though I know it always has a happy ending!

Handy Manny was so cute! I almost jumped in there and took a picture with him myself! :)

That's so cool!! :woohoo: I know you've been looking at mine and Amy's photos to see if you spotted any of your family! Yay! I'm glad you did! :yay:

It was a great day!! :goodvibes You're right, the park wasn't that crowded at all. And yes, by the end of the trip she was a pro with the characters! She would even go up and hug random cast members!

Magic Kingdom

It was another early morning for us. We got up at 6 and were at the bus stop for 7:15. Catching the bus for a character breakfast always makes me nervous. I always feel like we're going to be late. But at around 7:30 the bus to take us to the Magic Kingdom arrived and we were whisked away to a breakfast I had really been looking forward to and was #1 on my ADR list.

We arrived at MK just a little before 8 and I noticed Keala (jenniferkeala808) and her BF coming off the same bus! I had forgotten she was staying at CBR too! But I knew she’d be at the breakfast so I made a birthday card for her. They were in a hurry to make there way into the park, as were we, so I decided to wait and hopefully see her later.

IMG_1284.jpg

We made our way in… but not before getting our bags checked. I was thinking “C’mon bag check guy, stop talking to my dad about the Saints… I have an empty Main Street to see!!” :yay:

Jace and I took a few pics with a Photopass photographer.

We made our way to Crystal Palace to give the hostess our name. It wasn’t a long wait and we were seated in no time. I want to say it was a few minutes before our 8:20 ressie.

IMG_1304.jpg

We got to meet Pooh and the gang, Jace and Rylan participated in two parades around the restaurant and we enjoyed some great food!

I ate two plates, but only remembered to take a pic of the first. I loved the two potato dishes, the eggs were just like I like them and the puffy French toast I swiped off Pooh’s Corner, the kid’s buffet, was out of this world good!

IMG_1295.jpg

My mom and dad both had omelets made which they really enjoyed.

IMG_1296.jpg

IMG_1303.jpg

Jace got a specially made chocolate chip pancake which he was over the moon about!

IMG_1300.jpg

We asked the waitress, Theresa, if they would make one for him and she said certainly, just ask them at the counter. My mom went and got it for him and she said the lady behind her saw them making it and said “I didn’t know you could get that. I want one too! Haha

When we were almost done I spotted Keala seated across the room and told my mom that she was a DIS friend who was celebrating her birthday. I told her that I had made a card but didn’t want to bother her while she was eating. She told me I should just go and give it to her because I might not get another chance, so that’s what I did. She was super sweet and nice and even wanted to take a picture. I was so glad I got to meet her!!! :goodvibes

Once everyone was done with their meals we stopped for a bathroom break and were off to Fantasyland!

Up Next...Rylan gets to ride Dumbo!

Great update Alicia!! You and Jace took great Photopass pics by the castle!! Crystal Palace is so beautiful and the breakfast there is so good!!! LOVE all the pics with Pooh and the gang!! SO COOL you got to see Keala and how nice of you to make her a card!!! I can't wait to hear about the rest of your day, we made it to MK that day later in the afternoon! Maybe you will have the back of my dad's head in a picture! Also, I really like Jace's Toy Story shirt!!:thumbsup2

Thanks Beth! I can't say enough great things about Crystal Palace. It was really great!

That would be so funny if we got your dad in another picture!! :rotfl: I'll be looking out for him now! :)

I'll let Jace know you liked his shirt! :goodvibes

To the two readers I have left, I'll try to get another update up tomorrow. :)

But I did want to post my birthday present from my parents. They secretly got me a snow globe while we were in Disney!! I do remember them being missing for like 10 minutes one day, so that must have been what they were doing! :goodvibes

Magic Kingdom

After a few pics outside the fountain near Crystal Palace…

IMG_1306.jpg

…we were off and headed through the castle.

IMG_1309.jpg

IMG_1312.jpg

IMG_4017.jpg

It was about 15 minutes past rope drop, so the people were filing in the park.

IMG_1313.jpg

IMG_1314.jpg

IMG_1316.jpg

We got in line for Dumbo and it was a good 30 minute wait. It was hard to keep Rylan occupied, especially in that squishy line. (That and the teacups line are both ridiculously narrow.) The sun was hitting its stride and it was warming up pretty quickly.

My sister rode with Rylan and I rode with Jace. My dad went to get FP’s for Winnie the Pooh and then he met up with my mom who was videoing us and taking pictures.

IMG_4021.jpg

IMG_4022-1.jpg

IMG_4027.jpg

When we got off the ride my dad told us he had gotten surprise FP’s for Mickey’s Philharmagic! Awesome! (I later saw that the Philharmagic FP machines were covered up and must have been out of service. I guess surprise FP’s are the way they deal with that.)

We decided to jump on Snow White's Scary Adventure because it was a 5 minute wait.

IMG_1317.jpg

IMG_1318.jpg

Then my parents took the kids on Cinderella’s Carrousel. (now Prince Charming Regal Carrousel ;)) While my sister and I took pictures. Rylan was afraid of the horses so she and my dad sat it one of the benches they have.

IMG_4030.jpg

We walked across the way and saw Mickey’s Philharmagic. (We used the FP’s but they were definitely not even needed because it was a walk-on).

IMG_4035.jpg

IMG_4036.jpg

Rylan sat in my dad’s lap and we threw a jacket over her entire body to avoid any water sprays. (I think she was used to the routine.) She never cried anymore at shows, but would just get really serious and wait to be covered by somebody or something.

I don’t know if it was because we were in the last row, or because my glasses were kinda misshapen, but it was hard to get the 3-D effect. It was a little blurry and I don’t think I enjoyed it as much as I remembered from our previous trip. I still think Donald Duck is greatness and it’s a great show for him to be the star of!

Then we went to use our FP’s for Winnie the Pooh. I snapped this pic on the way. Pinocchio’s Village Haus is so cute!

IMG_1323.jpg

Next it was off to Peter Pan’s Flight. Barely a wait! My childhood favorite for sure! :goodvibes (They make these construction screens look so much like the actual building, it was hard to tell the difference sometimes.)

IMG_1320.jpg

What is Ariel doing in there? ;)

IMG_1321.jpg

We met the man himself on the way out. My first time seeing him in the parks.

IMG_4068.jpg

Then it was off to It’s a Small World. Rylan fell asleep in line, so she didn’t get to enjoy it, but everyone else enjoyed getting out of the sun and riding the classic.

Up Next...We move it and shake it with some characters!

I'm here! I'm here! Just got back from vacation!

GREAT MK pictures!! So lucky you got to meet Peter Pan! I have yet to see him in the parks--he is one of my favorites. You are right--those construction screens look real! What were they improving on Peter Pan :confused3

Great update Alicia! You have some really nice pics from Fantasyland! You guys hit all the rides that morning!!! The pics from inside the castle are so pretty, I love the mosaic story of Cinderella!

BTW, that is an awesome snow globe you got!! I really like how it includes all the parks!! What a great gift, I LOVE it when my parents are "sneaky" like that!!!:goodvibes

Up until this point I've tried to make a conscious effort not to post non-Disney related things on my PTR or TR. I love reading about what other DISers are up to outside the parks and while going through the planning process, but I kinda looked at my TR as my escape from whatever was going on in my life at that moment, and being able to discuss Disney is pure bliss! :goodvibes

But I have to ask for your prayers for my community and all the people and wildlife along the Gulf Coast. Southeast Louisiana was just recovering from Katrina and now this is like another punch in the gut. Our culture and the way of life of so many people is being threatened by this oil spill. I'm so proud of being from a small fishing town full of resilient people that have recovered from so many hardships already. I can only hope our worst fears aren't realized.:sad2:

I'm sure you've seen a lot on the news, probably a few of my family members (I apologize for the way they're dressed ), but this piece in particular focuses on the bayou I live on and really hits home.

Hey Alicia! I have not been down to that part of the woods in years...we use to spend every weekend of the summer with friends in the area. Dayne & Joe are so bummed with the oil reaching Lake Ponchatrain. Dayne and a friend, Luke-the one who had come to WDW with us, just bought a bass boat and had been looking forward to taking it out around the Rigoletts (sp) and Joe and his family go spear fishing quite a bit. Although, we do not have family that are fishermen or shrimpers we do have a lot of recreational fishers that it is starting to affect. We pray they are able to shut this down soon...seems we are going to have an active hurricane season so they really need to get the ball moving.:grouphug:

Alicia, I'm all caught up with your TR! :yay:
you have some great pictures and sounds like a GREAT day at DHS!
I love the pictures of the empty park...and CP sounds so yummy! I love that they have the omelet bar (I think I said that on Keala's thread too!) it will def. be on the list next time we go! Sounds like a great morning in FL! sorry your glasses were messed up I love Mickey's Philharmagic!

BEAUTIFUL! that is a wonderful birthday gift! :bday:

globe I had started collecting globes years ago and after getting about 8 I was limited for space...but, I was looking at that one and a few of the other four park ones the other day on the disneyshopping site

Somehow I got unsubscribed from your report. :confused3 I missed several installments but I'm caught back up again.

I hope you had a great time on vacation! :) I finished your January TR last night and am half-way through your PTR for December. I'll start posting when I catch up! :goodvibes

I was thinking the same thing about Peter Pan's Flight  I hadn't heard anything, so maybe it's just some small cosmetic things.

Thanks! We had a great time in Fantasyland that morning! It was a first for us to hit that part of the park first. We always go towards Adventureland and loop around. But going to Fantasyland first was wonderful when it came to missing the crowds!

Thank you! Yes, Disney surprises are the best so they can be sneaky about that whenever they want!! :goodvibes

Thanks Connie. I hope the predictions are wrong about this hurricane season being active. :sad2: But they definitely need to hurry with the clean-up!!

Thanks! I wish we could have lingered and enjoyed the empty park more, but we were hungry and excited to make our ADR. It's so worth it to get an early CP ressie! It'll be something we do again I'm sure! :goodvibes

I love it! That's so cool you collect them! I have 3 others, Cinderella & Prince Charming, Aladdin & Jasmine, and Snow White. This is my first Mickey one and it plays Zip-a-dee-doo-dah so I love it even more! But you're totally right, they take up a lot of space! I keep saying I need to get a curio cabinet for all my Disney collectibles. Maybe I'll get myself one for Christmas!:)

Somehow I got unsubscribed from your report. :confused3 I missed several installments but I'm caught back up again.

Sorry about that. Glad you found me again! :goodvibes

Magic Kingdom

It was almost 12:30, so we made our way to get a spot for the Move It! Shake It! Celebrate It! Parade.

IMG_4072-1.jpg

Rylan waved to everyone who passed. :wave2: I was so happy with our spot! And the weather couldn't have been better!

IMG_1332.jpg

IMG_1333.jpg

IMG_1334.jpg

Jace, my dad and I took a spin on the teacups…

IMG_1336.jpg

And then we all headed to Mickey’s Toontown Fair.

IMG_4094.jpg

I’m gonna miss it, but I think the change will be an improvement, so I’m not that sad about it.

IMG_1340.jpg

IMG_1342.jpg

We headed for the Princesses first.

IMG_1344.jpg

It was a ridiculously long wait, and Rylan fell asleep. We left the stroller with my mom and Jace (who didn’t want to see the Princesses ), so we had to keep handing her over and switching hands. (I wish you could just grab a number like at the DMV and then shop in the gift shop until they call you and it’s your turn to meet the Princesses. Disney would even make money because people would surely make purchases while waiting their turn.:thumbsup2)

IMG_4111.jpg

The only princess I've ever taken a pic with is Jasmine, so I decided I would take some too!

IMG_4112.jpg

IMG_4113.jpg

IMG_4116.jpg

IMG_4117.jpg

IMG_4118.jpg

IMG_4120.jpg

It was much too long to see the fairies too. :sad2: Too bad, cause I've loved seeing photos of inside Pixie Hollow.

So we went to tour Mickey and Minnie’s houses.

Mickey was in his Judge’s Tent, but it was a crazy wait too, so we decided to skip it since we had seen Fantasia Mickey at HS the day before.

My dad and Jace rode Goofy’s Barnstormer and then Rylan played in Chip & Dale's Playground. She LOVED this place!

Up Next...Rylan gets introduced to Sunny Eclipse!
