Sorry, another DME question. We are planning on just packing carry-ons for our upcoming trip and I was wondering if it made any difference if we just carried them on the bus with us or will they want us to store them under the bus? If they do store them under the bus will we be able to grab them again as soon as we get off or will someone wisk them away?!

Also, our return flight is scheduled for 9:10am on a Thursday and DME has us scheduled for a pick up of 6:10am. Since we don't have to check in at the airport (we'll be printing our passes the night before for SWA) and all we need to do is go through security, would you call and change the pick up time? If so, what time would you try to reschedule it?

Any input would be greatly appreciated!!

We left POR yesterday and used DME. We had a 3:00 pm flight and were picked up at 12 noon. We could have used the 12:30 bus I think but just wanted to get the heck out of Dodge, so to speak. As far as using carry-ons. We had checked luggage but also each of us has a carry-on also. The bus driver had all those without checked luggage go to the front of the line. We then boarded. Those with luggage to be checked had to wait and have their luggage put under the bus. When we got to the airport, we were all held on the bus while the driver took all the luggage out from under the bus. When that was done, he released the passsengers. So, you can bring your carry-on with you on the bus, as long as it isn't too large. We just put ours at our feet.

I think the choice of whether to bring carry-ons with you on the bus or have them stowed underneath has to do with the size of the carry-ons. If you have room to stow them at your feet and/or on the overhead shelf, I can't see where the driver or other passengers would care. I think the only issue with you taking carry-ons on the bus with you would be if you took up other seats or blocked the aisle.

By the way, no one is going to whisk away your carry-on bags if they're under the bus. ENJOY YOUR TRIP!

Thanks for the info. I think we'll just try to keep the carry-ons with us in the overhead bins unless the bus isn't full but at 8:30 on a Saturday morning I'm not counting on that!
I'm still pretty undecided what to do about the return flight. I was hoping to grab a few things in the concierge lounge when it opens at 7am but if they want to pick us up at 6:10 that isn't going to happen unless we can flights or DME times. I would think 7:10 or 7:20 would still be doable but I suppose I would have to call them to reschedule.
PS...do I have to put the DME tags on my carry-ons?

No, DME tags aren't needed on carry ons. Anything put under the bus is claimed and taken by you upon arrival.

You can reschedule your return ME trip after you get to the resort also.

But don't ask for a rescheduling of less time than what they normally give, generally three hours from flight time. (You can ask for an earlier bus.) Small irregularities can happen and if you cut it too close, you may miss your flight.

Do you really think I need three hours when I'm not checking in at the airport...I'm going right through security and to the gate? I thought I may be able to get away with two hours and just telling DME that my flight leaves at a different time. (I'm flying SWA with only carry-on luggage.)
Thanks for the replies!

You could do that, and it seems like it wouldn't hurt anything, but imagine starting your trip home with a snag in the system, which does happen and you missing your flight for an extra 30 minutes of sleep. I would be kicking myself in the rear.
