I just have to tell this story.
Last month I had a convention in Orlando and thought it would be a great oportunity to take the family back to WDW. My wife, our three teenagers, Gramma, Grandad, and me. My girls invited my niece who lives in Mexico and her missionary parents let her fly alone to meet us. She is 13. On the first day we were at Epcot. My niece was carrying a small LLBean purse that had a strap that went across her shoulder and neck. As went entered the gate I went to get a scooter for Dad and the kids all went to the restroom. We were at the Kodak show when my niece realized that she had left her purse in the bathroom, with over $150.00 in it with no ID. Of course it was gone. We checked with Guest Relations but no such luck. She was very upset. We went on about our day and rode Test Track until the 10pm closing. As we were leaving I decided to check by guest relations one more time. The CM there had found her purse but told us it only had $19 in it. When she got it back and looked inside there was the $19 plus the $150. A wallet with no ID and $169.00 in cash was turned in to lost and found. It made me feel good about where I had brought my family.....only at Disney.

What a beautiful story....you inspired me to reply with some previously unshared "miracles" of my own...
Was lucky enough to arrange a trip to WDW in '96 with my two dd's...(ages 6 and 8 at the time)..
>>we were staying at the AS-Music..swam until late and then returned to our room..next morning discovered that dd's sandals were missing..they could not be found anywhere..of course they had their sneakers..but grandma had purchased their sandals especially for the trip..they were somewhat upset..headed out to breakfast clad in sneakers..upon our return to the room..we saw a groundskeeper in a golf cart..in the back were the very sandals my dd's had lost...seems they forgot them at the pool the previous nite..the groundskeeper was about to take them to "lost & found"..
Another incident which occurred on the same trip..oldest dd had purchased a stuffed Mickey..placed it in her bag along with her "fanny pack"..inside the pack was her ID information that included our Resort room #...when we arrived back to the room...we had a message that the fanny pack AND the stuffed Mickey had been turned in to Guest Relations at the MK!!!
The very STRANGEST thing happened however..AFTER we had arrived home...some 4 weeks later..youngest DD was perusing her World Showcase Passport..oldest DD was frantically searching for hers....on a whim..I called WDW..and low and behold...housekeeping had found her Passport under the bed the day we left...ONE MONTH later...dd's passport was forwarded to our home...via UPS...free of charge!!!!
Talk about MAGIC???....UNBELIEVABLE...BUT TRUE!!!
No where else would you find these "little.(?)". miracles!!!!....
No wonder why we always want to go back....
Just my 2 cemts!!

It seems pretty evident that a very large portion of people who choose to work at WDW are some of the kindest and most thoughtfull people you will ever find.
You hear stories of lost items and crying children, and cm's that go above and beyond the call of duty to help people feel better.

My personal situation was a few years back in Typhoon lagoon, my travelling companion had a diabetes situation and needed help. Firstly, they got her blood suger correct, then brought in a bus just for her, had someone ride it with her back to the resort and stayed with her until i could be reached.
Someone went to the area where are things were and collected them to keep safe, and contacted me.
The amount of attention and care they showed enforced my belief that there is truly something magical about this place, and the spirit of walt disney is alive and well!
I thank God for the goodness in people's hearts.

Is it May yet???

My husband left our camcorder bag on a table at Rosie's in MGM with our $800 camcorder and $400 35MM camera inside. Lost and found had it. I was shocked - I thought we would never see it again.

If you ever find anything at Disney (or anywhere else for that matter - hat, sunglasses, wallet) do a good deed and turn it in! How does the saying go...pay it forward.

These are examples of why I enjoy Disney. It seems like people get the Disney Magic just walking through the gates. It's too bad we can't spread the magic all over.
