we only have 2 days to explore a taste of the parks; we've never been before and are tagging along on a business trip. any suggestions for tickets and what to make sure we do? kids ages are 5-12. thanks!

Welcome!!

The best advice that many of us would give you is the same: gather lots of information. Read the Unofficial Guide to WDW and get a feel for what sounds interesting to you. They have plans that you can follow for 1 or 2-day trips.

If the hopper option is not out of reach, do it. You'll be able to get a taste of more of the parks. If you can get your gang off to an early start, you should be able to hit many of the major attractions. There are lots of attractions I could list that I would skip if I only had 2 days, but they'll be different for many people.

Will it just be you with the 2 kids? In asking that, I'm assuming that your dh(?) is there on business. With a 5 and 12 yo, you'll have to do some compromising if you're on your own with them. I'm assuming your kids will want to do things that the other doesn't want to or can't do (height??).

Have fun planning. Keep reading and asking questions.

If your DH is at a Disney event, you may be able to get convention tickets and save some $. Otherwise, buy hoppers if you can afford them so that you can get a taste of all the parks. With just two days, make sure you get to a park at closing and plan your strategy before you go.

I second the Official Guide. Until we started visiting frequently, we ALWAYS planned our trips with it.

WOW! You've never been before and are going for 2 days. All I can say is PLAN PLAN PLAN...Read up on things you want to do and your kids want to do. I would definately say go w/ the hopper pass. Your kids are young so I'd spend almost a full day at MK and maybe head over to EPCOT at around 4 hit some must sees ie... Test Track, Mission Space, Figment,Honey I shrunk the audience. And then stay for Illuminations! The next day head over to AK if your interested in that. (If not skip it all together. If I had a short time frame and had to skip a park it would be AK). Or you could head over to MGM for the day check out Fantasmic. Really it all depends on the MUST SEES for you and your family. Make a chart of each park write down the must for each person and go from there. It will give you a better idea of what parks your time will be more spent in! hope this helps. Keep asking questions and WELCOME to the DIS!!! :wizard:
