Only 1 ADR per park, which one?

I only plan on doing 1 ADR per park, I need help deciding which..

AK: last trip we did Tusker house and enjoyed it, thinking of doing that again, unless there's a better recommendation

MK: Not sure yet I want to do an ADR here, I do want to do Wishes Dessert the night of MVMCP if we can.

HS: I'm thinking Hollywood and Vine, possibly in conjunction with Fantasmic.

Epcot: wasn't impressed at all with this park last time, what's worth seeing here for 8-9 yr olds and a 2 hr old? They weren't interested in the world walk last time..

US: Not sure if we'll hit this park yet, still trying to decide. Which would be better, HS or US? Again, 8-9 yr olds on this one.

First, what meal do you want ADR's for? My suggestions will vary depending on the time of day.

Second, any cuisines you don't do? There's no point in recommending a restaurant you wouldn't like.

Third, US? Universal Studios? Just double checking that you know it's not a WDW park.

As to whether you'd like US over HS with 8-9 year olds, check the height guides at US. I know my DD was just shy of a few attractions last year. If your kids are big Star Wars fans, definitely HS. Harry Potter, than US. And there are 2 parks for US, you'd likely not get everything accomplished in 1 day. You will at HS.

Finally, Epcot. There's lots of stuff for the kids. Soarin', Test Track, Nemo, Turtle Talk with Crush, Living with the Land, Figment, Mission: SPACE, Spaceship Earth, Innoventions, etc. Depending on when you go, the Frozen ride may be open too.

EPCOT - Coral Reef and then do all the activities at The Seas
HS - Seriously?? Sci-Fi Diner!!!
MK - Leave the park and go to 'Ohana at the Poly. Nice break from the park.
AK - Rainforest Cafe would be different (really loud, though)

We're down for any type of cuisine. My kids will try just about anything, and so long as we can find stuff that's not super duper, hurt your mouth spicy, then me and the 2 yr old are good too. Lol

Time of day. Preferably lunch or dinner. If there's a restaurant that has an out of this world breakfast, and not the standard buffet for $30-40/ea, then I'd consider a breakfast ADR. But for the most part breakfast will be at our resort.

I realize Universal is not Disney, but plenty of people go. I prob goofed on the ADR for that park tho. Lol but figured someone would have a recommendation for food. With what you said tho, we'll prob hit HS they are not into Harry Potter at all.

When we did Epcot, it seemed the only thing the kids liked was the Talkin with Crush. Everything else was a fail. Livin with the land, though educational, was a complete bore to them. So was adventure space. Waste of time for my kids. We'll be traveling in Dec, from what I see Frozen will be open. Will def try to FP for that.

To me it depends if you want a character meal or not, so I'll recommend one character meal and one not per park:

MK: Crystal Palace breakfast, it's really nice buffet and the Pooh and friend characters are great. OR The Plaza for lunch (great lunch fare and fun ice cream desserts).

EPCOT: Garden Grill any meal is our very favourite character meal on property, love that it's family style and not buffet, food is great and so are the characters. OR Coral Reef (really fun atmosphere with the giant aquarium to watch. I love their steak and the chocolate wave dessert is one of my faves.

HS: Sci-Fi for sure, it's a must do for us every trip. Very unique setting and the food is pretty good too. H&V is the only character meal here and IMO it's the worst buffet on property. I only recommend this one if your kids are really into Disney Jr. and/or you use it as for a PPO Jedi training signup strategy.

AK: Tusker House is a pretty good character meal, we do this one every trip or Yak & Yeti, which is probably the restaurant that suprised me the most as far as how much I enjoyed it.

Coral Reef sounds interesting I'll check into That.

These would be my choices.

AK: Tusker or Yak & Yeti. We're doing Tusker for the first time this week, otherwise we have done Y&Y 4-5 times. Love it and will miss it this trip! Won't be as fun for the kids, though, without characters.

MK: Be Our Guest would be my choice.

HS: I would do Sci Fi lunch or if you wanted the Fantasmic package without going Signature, I'd do Mama Melrose.

Epcot: My kids love Spaceship Earth, Nemo & the Seas, Innoventions (what little there is there now), Test Track, Soarin. Kidcot makes the walk around the world showcase more tolerable for kids, for sure. Dining with your crew - Coral Reef.

US: I would do Hollywood. It wouldn't be worth it for me to buy a ticket to another park just for one day. Save it for later.

I figured you did, but with ADR's I wasn't quite sure (crazy how many think it's the same!).

Here are our favorites:


MK: BOG dinner. If you can't get then my next suggestion would be to go to nearby resort for dinner. O'hana, Narcoossee's, Cali Grill, Artist Point
all good.

EPCOT: we love Via Napoli and Teppan Edo. We also go to Boardwalk area (outside international gateway) and enjoy Flying Fish, Trattoria al Forno, Yachtsman.

HS: we like Sci-Fi for lunch.

AK: Yak & Yeti for lunch.

50s Prime Time at HS is also fun. Great food. We are eating there and at Sci-Fi when we go in August. My son loved Coral Reef. Its a pretty cool experience too, although how people go there and eat fish, I do know know. LMAO. We love Teppan Edo and my son enjoyed it when he was 8 or 9. I would do Tusker House at AK - I am not a big fan of the other restaurants there. BOG or Crystal Palace at MK.

MK: Not sure yet I want to do an ADR here, I do want to do Wishes Dessert the night of MVMCP if we can.Liberty Tree Tavern or Tonys either one are good. For a little more laid back place, The Plaza is a simple place, sandwiches, soups, etc. Also, keep in mind, there are some very good places a walk or monorail ride away from MK. The Wave has a great breakfast and lunch, 10 min walk from MK gates. Kona also has a very good breakfast and lunch

HS: I'm thinking Hollywood and Vine, possibly in conjunction with Fantasmic. Another choice for Fantasmic package, try Mama Melrose. But if youe decide to forego the package, 50s PTC is really good
