Online Purchase Question

I made an online purchase through Amazon.com for a camera and accessories. It was not actually from Amazon, but another company. I used my Amex for payment.

I received the box yesterday, opened it today. All the accessories are there, but no camera.

I sent an email and left a voicemessage at the company.

So I guess I am wondering if there is anything else I should be doing? Any advice.

Looks like I will need to wait for Monday to arrive before I will hear anything.

Thank you to all who reply, I appreciate it.

The vendor that you purchased from should have some sort of feedback listing on Amazon. Check that out first.

There's a possibility that the camera might be shipped seperately. Explore that option.

AMEX is really good about standing up for the member. Try to contact the vendor first, don't be accusatory- just ask the question about the camera.

If you get no joy with the vendor, contact Amazon to let them know what's going on with a business under the Amazon umbrella.
I assume that you saved/printed the receipt for your purchase. Go online to AMEX and you can find the transaction on your statement. You can dispute the charge with them online (you might also need to submit it in writing).

I'll think good thoughts for you- maybe you'll hear something from the vendor on Monday.

Good Luck!

If the box was pretty full I'd assume they shipped separately and that the camera just didn't make it on that shipment (could be the shippers fault, not the seller) and it will hopefully arrive Monday. I've always felt Amazon does a pretty good job of policing their authorized sellers, so I would not assume the worst just yet.

Oh yeah. That's why the vendor and I once had a three way conference call with Amex where he pointed out that the charge that had "magically appeared" on my bill had NEVER been paid to him so he couldn't refund me and Amex said "we never make errors like that"

After TONS of documenation from both the vendor and I and a letter I wrote to the Amex President the charge was "reversed" I mean the poor vendor sent the records of EVERY payment he received from Amex over a two month period to prove his point... Thank goodness he was helpful! (Now if it gets to that stage apparently the President has a staff of folks who do nothing but clean up Amex stupid moves!)

Okay, so I'll rephrase that.

WE have never had an issue with AMEX when we've had to dispute a charge.

I assume that no charge/credit card company has a perfect record. Maybe I've just been lucky. I'm glad that you did finally get your issue resolved though Carol!

I purchased a dvd from a seller on amazon. I never received the movie. I emailed seller several times with no response. I filed a complaint with amazon and the credited my acct. within 2 weeks.

This is correct. Even though you bought the camera from another vendor under the Amazon umbrella, when you paid for it with your amex, it actually went through Amazon first. If the vendor won't help you out, then contact Amazon for a refund.

If the seller doesn't fix the situation, you can file an A to Z claim on amazon. Just go into My Account and then View Recent Orders, find the order and there's a "Problem with this order" button. That will walk you through the process.

Please give the seller a chance to fix it as filing a claim counts against the seller, even if you withdraw the claim later. It really stinks for us sellers!

Thank you everyone for the help! I really appreciate it and am trying to be patient.

Very anxious as the digital camera we have now is 8 years old and this is my birthday present for my birthday trip to WDW. I keep saying to DH "I just want a faster camera for my trip".

I'll report back in the coming days.....

IndianaPrincess I love the t-shirts in the pic! Did you make them yourself?

Just about two business days and another email (this time through Amazon, contact the seller) and nothing heard from the seller.

I was thinking that if I heard nothing by the end of the day today, I would file with Amazon.:confused3 :confused3

If your card has been charged. And there was no notice of "first box of 2" I would be filing a complaint. Did the packing invoice show the camera as being in that box? Or not.

Make sure you file a complaint with Amazon. Go ahead and get it started just incase the seller does not respond. Amazon will also contact them.
