Online Menus not Accurate

anyone else notice that online menus are consistently wrong? Frustrating to have reservations and waiter/waitress report the one item I was hoping for is no longer served. Seemed worse at HS.

It is unrealistic to expect online menus at any restaurant to be accurate 100% of the time. If there is only one thing you might be interested in and would be unhappy if it were not available, it might be best to consider other ADR options.

My family has been using myDisney experience app and website. Sounds like I should have been using non-Disney menus.

We have ADR at the Wave tonight. just walking over from MK since long night tonight. I will check Allears menu.

I didn't know until recently I that they posted menus. I don't understand why they aren't updated if you notice consistent errors.

I am pretty sure allears is frequenting establishments and updating in due course when menus change.

Restaurant menus change all the time, everywhere not just in WDW. On any given day, one of the ingredients for a particular dish may not be available or may not be up to the quality standards of the chef. Most restaurants feel it is better to take an item off the menu than leave it on and have the waitstaff tell the customer that an item is not available today.

I would expect places like the Wave to vary significantly over time, as they are a farm to table philosophy.

Our first trip, not even one dinner menu was remotely the same. We ate at a lot of signatures and based our choices around the menus. They were all completely different from what was online. On the actual Disney website. The very same day.

and even sometimes the other sites are off too...by saying they are updated recently..the prices are off as well as the items...just be aware that you may be disappointed in items that are gone or new items

In general, for non-chain fine dining, you should expect near nightly changes in menu offerings, as such restaurants tend to change based on ingredient and seasonality.

I did notice this at HS, the online menu for ABC commissary still states (on allears) they have fried fish and chicken nuggets, however when we were there on the 22nd, they didn't have any of these items.

I can't say that I ever choose a restaurant based on specific menu items. Which is why I never respond to threads of the "what should I order at XYZ restaurant" type. Looking at menus ahead of time gives you a good idea of the kind of food that restaurant offers, but focussing on a specific dish is setting yourself up for disappointment. Menus change all the time. The better the restaurant, the more frequent the changes.

WDW has over 341 places that serve food. Can you imagine trying to keep every single menu updated daily on the website? It's not as if every restaurant controls its own web page. People need to manage their expectations.

It is disappointing. The only time this was really an issue for us was Mother's Day last year. I specifically chose Le Cellier with 2 pork dishes in mind that looked delicious. I even checked the menu again just before going because I know it can change seasonally but it was exactly the same as when I made the ADR. On Mother's Day neither of the dishes I wanted were on the menu and the waitress informed me their menu changes "all the time." There really wasn't anything else that particularly appealed to me and we already had a late ADR and were sat late so getting up and finding something else wasn't an option.

I even signed on that night to see if they had changed it online and they didn't. It remained the same menu for at least several weeks after our trip. So it would seem they don't get updated with changes. Wish I'd known that ahead of time because I would have gone somewhere else.

It's why I pick a restaurant on the style of their dishes and content rather than the specifics of an individual dish. It's very frustrating for sure...but I've still had amazing meals at restaurants where the item I was really anticipating was unavailable.

1) Before you go, place a call to Lamont Cranston.
2) Only he knows everything.
3) If he is not available, call 867-5309 and ask for Jenny.

I check menus to see what kind of food is offered and the general pricing of the food. I am not wedded to the menus other than that. I know my DD will not eat red meat and really does not like most seafood. I check to see if there are chicken pork or shellfish or pastas offered. If there are a few options she will choose, I am comfortable booking that restaurant.
