Online Dining Reservations question

This morning I made a reservation for the Plaza Inn for July 14 for my party of 6 adults and 2 kids. I chose 8 people, got the earliest time shown for 8:10. I got my confirmation email and it shows 8 adults. Does this matter? Should I call them to modify? The only option to modify I see online is to cancel the reservation entirely. Thanks!

You can call to modify although this isn't a big deal. The only problem is not being able to link everyone through the MDE. That is unless they have fixed this since I tried back in September.

When I talked to Dining on the phone, they said it defaults to adults. They didn't say it needed to be changed.

I do need to increase the number in my party. Can I do that on-line or do I have to call?

Oh thanks for sharing that about it defaulting to adults. I won't worry about it. I didn't see a place to modify an existing reservation online. All I saw was a link to cancel so I would assume to change the number in your party, you'll have to call.

Yep. Have to call. I even tried to add a 2nd party at the same time and it wouldn't let me because I already had a reservation. I suppose I could cancel my original res and make a new one for the new amount of people, but that always makes me nervous since I worry I may I loose my original time.

MDE is "My Disney Experience". It's used in a big way to plan WDW vacations (you link your tickets, hotel reservations, dining reservations, etc. through MDE), but it's not really as important a thing for DLR. I've had to set-up a MDE account and use it for a WDW trip, and I did notice that it will display your DLR dining reservations (because that's all I had), but you can't really do any DLR planning through it. At least, I haven't figured out if you can make DLR dining reservations using the MDE app. Basically, I wouldn't worry to much at MDE if your coming to DLR.

As the PP said, you have to call Disneyland Dining to modify the number of people in your party. You can also try to find a new booking for the correct number of people and the system will ask you to cancel the existing ADR and replace it with the new one. I haven't had problems doing this, but it does make some folks nervous to say go ahead and cancel the existing ADR and make the new one.
