Online checkin

I just pulled up my upcomming reservations for next month (February). I wanted to do online checkin, but they are not offering me this option. Did I miss a change in policy or something?

I think you can only do online check in within 10 days of arrival.

If you want to add any special occasions to the reservation, you can do so now by going to: MyDisneyReservation.com/DVC

At 10 days or less, your DVC account will indicate that your reservation is now available for on line check in.

You can also try online chicken, but you have to go to KFC for that!

Do you have to wait until 10 days prior to checkin do this? (Assuming this means mentioning any birthdays, anniversaries, etc.). If so, I didn't realize that it could not be noted on the reservation earlier.
