Online Checkin????

another question: if you aren't happy with your room location and want to wait until later in the day incase your building of preference comes up, can you still request this or are you locked in...thats it thats all type of thing...

HUMMMM.. I am going to call and see about the online check in.. I was told that if you use it that your requests are removed.. I am taking DME and thought that it might be a little easier since it might be busy while I am trying to check in..

DW and I have been waiting to get to 10 days out so we can check in online. We hear it's the new great thing to do.

Disney?

ummmmmmmm could you let us access this feature please????

  :confused3 :sad2:

It's good to know I'm not the only one frustrated by the broken online check-in. I have tried so many times in the last few days and I keep getting a message saying that online check-in is unavailable please try again later.

It's just so frustrating when stuff doesn't work...why release it to the public if it's going to be broken half the time?

Ok my head has stopped spinning around so I can go back to work now and try to check in later, thanks for listening everyone

This may sound silly, but it might work. Clean the cookies and cache in your browser and try again.

I used on-line check in on our last trip 2 weeks ago. It was absolutely the best thing. Dropped my wife off out front to go online and she was finished and waiting for me before I parked the car. A DME bus had just arrived and the regular line was quite long.

Thanks for the advice, I actually tried that about 2 or 3 times yesterday thinking the same thing....that they'd hidden an evil no check in cookie on my computer somewhere...:rotfl:

The saga continues, I'll keep trying!! :thumbsup2

I have a question. Once we get to WDW we're going to need to upgrade our MYW tix from one days to multi-day PH. I don't have that noted on our ressie or anything. If we do online check-in, can we still have them do that at the counter or is that something we would need to wait in the regular longer line for? Or do at the parks? I've never had to upgrade tix before so I'm a little clueless.

Also- what's the advantage of checking in ten days in advance? As opposed to say, a couple days before you go?

Please post what you find out. Can anyone answer this one? This would be bad...

I am wondering this myself. From what I read on the FAQ part of the check in it says:

What information will be requested when I use the Online Check-In Service?
The information includes: a credit card for incidental charges, arrival time, departure time, Guest names,
room requests (note: room requests are subject to availability), address, and on-site phone number.

I have a request on my ressie at this time and was going to do online checkin on Tuesday (my 10 day marker), but if I loss that request, I am going to be disappointed

My requests were still ON my reservation and we used online check-in...For what it's worth...we got our room request for our stay.

I did our online check in form yesterday-we're under the 10 day mark now. Had no problems and it only took me minutes to complete the form. We leave next Sunday and I'm glad Disney offers this service. We're staying a POP and the check-in line can be long, esp if a DME bus just dropped off!!

For those of you having problems accessing the online check in try calling Disney Tech Support, 407 828-7128. We booked our package thru Southwest and were told we could not use online check in by a Disney CM. We thought it was strange since SW sent us the email with the link to do it. We later called back and got another CM that transferred us to Tech Support. Although we had the correct Disney reservation#, they provided us with yet another number to use instead, and we were finally able to check in online.

My DW and I are leaving on Sept 12 and I just accessed the on line check in, based on alot of the replies and advice posted here. It was as easy as others have stated. My requests for the room were on the reservation information. I guess I won't know for sure until we get there, but so far so good.

We arrive on Thursday of this week. We did the on-line check in last Monday and called the resort yesterday to check on a few things. We are traveling with family so have a total of three rooms at POR. We asked our questions and all our requests were still in the system, the lady at the resort read them to us. We had called the resort directly as the kids take air mattresses and we wanted sheets and blankets. They were great. Don't think you will have any issues at all using this service.

I'm glad to hear that online check-in is working for some people, I just don't understand why it still isn't working for me.

I sent Disney and email through their website, but plan on calling tomorrow to see why I keep getting the same message of "the system is unavailable, try again later"

I think I'll call tomorrow and see if I can't get more answers, we leave next Sunday and I don't have my Disney packet with all my vouchers and luggage tags and I can't check in online.....dangit!!! :headache:

So, :surfweb:, any comments from more people who've done online check-in, and are now at the resort and/or back home again?

Any warnings as to why one might not want to take advantage of this new feature?

I've been looking at the various threads on online checkin,
and my questions now are:

1) Are the rooms actually assigned as the pre-check in time, or the day or so before, or the morning of?

AND!
2) Can 2 people in a room each have his/her own ccard associated with his/her own KTTW card if you do online checkin?
(As per this little nugget I cut & paste from some other thread (sorry I hadn't noted who posted it in what thread...
(CHARGING PURCHASES TO KTTC AND TO SEP CREDIT CARDS:

1) Every room key with charging can be tied to a different credit card.
2) Those arriving at same time or even later can tie their key to their own credit card.
3) Have them ask for a "SHARE" when they check-in. (Use this specific word.)
4) If CM doesn't know how, ask them to check the Front Desk Manual.

Example:
Mom and daughter in same room.
Mom can have her room key tied to the mother's MasterCard for mother's purchases.
Daughter can have her room key tied to the daughter's VISA for daughter's purchases.

Process:
. . . mom checks in, with her credit card, just as usual and gets room #1212
. . . daughter tells Front Desk CM this is a "SHARE" room
. . . daughter must use this exact phrase, as it has special meaning
. . . daughter checks-in using her credit card and gets a virtual room #1212a
. . . repeat for as many credit cards room people want to use
. . . mother and daughter (and others) purchases now go to individual credit cards
. . . one or both could pay a part of the room bill
. . . the 1st to check-in gets charges for phones or room service (system glitch)
. . . this can be done for as many room keys that have charge privileges

NOTE: If the Front Desk refuses, ask for the Front Desk Adviser (FSA). If the Adviser refuses, ask for a manager. If the manager refuses, ask for the Guest Services Manager (GSM). The magic words, are "I will go as high up the chain as I have to go in order to get what is in your own Procedure Manual." Managers get dinged if a complaint goes above their level. Also, using terms like SHARE and FSA get attention, because employees realize that you know what you are talking about.

NOTE2: And, yes, you can do it at SSR! It is in the manual, available to all Front Desk CM's.
