I was wondering, we have our info printed out, times, flights, seat assignments.....do we still need to go online at 24 hours and check in?
Or just check in with our luggage at the airport?
I was wondering about the return way also, will the RAC desk checking in that morning when we depart WDW be soon enough? As we won't have a computer with us.....
I know it sounds dumb, but want to get it straight with no mistakes....:thumbsup2

You didn't say which airline you're using. But you do need to check in, either online or at the desk at the airport. It's a good idea to check your flights periodically to see if there are any changes in the schedule.
If your airline participates in RAC you can take your luggage to the RAC desk and they will check you in and print your boarding passes. You don't need your own computer.

we're on Jetblue coming in,Airtran going home....I've been checking weekly,so far,no changes in 3 months.....

if an airline is going to 'bump' or IDB passengers, check in time is definitely a factor. We repeat that frequently here.

If you are not an elite member and don't have a seat assignment, or don't check in until you arrive at the airport, there is a chance that you will be IDB'd if your flight is full and there are no volunteers.

ok,we're not elite members of any airline, but we have our seats assigned both ways, coming and going, so we should be ok without checking in ahead online? I can easily do it from home, but RAc is enough for going home?

IDB's tend to be in this order, with some variance

  • those with no seat assignments
  • those with seat assignments who checked in latest
  • general members
  • elite members by tier

That doesn't allow for crew and those on passes who are also factored into the mix.

So those who checked in latest, even with seat assignments, are near the top of the 'bump' list

Thanks for the info, bavaria. I've long suspected it worked like that but wasn't sure.
