If anyone has done this can they please tell me how it works?
Do you get your seat numbers & are they guarenteed?
what do you have to do online?
Where do you take your luggage when you get to airport etc etc...
:thumbsup2

It's a very straight forward and fully explained service via the VA website. You just need your passports and booking details on hand.

You will have the opportunity to view a flight seat plan and you will be allowed to select your chosen seats by clicking on them. As with all airlines, your seats cannot be guaranteed - but it is generally unlikely that they will be changed.

There are online check-in bag drop desks plus VA staff to help you through the process, all near the regular check-in area but minus the queues. It's all made very easy. :)

Another quick question regards flights with Virgin!

I have got an E-Ticket from booking online, will i receive any luggage labels through the post or at the airport? Or will i not receive any and have to make my own?

Any help is much appreciated!

Neil

We used both online checkin and Twilight checkin last December :)

I wanted to ensure we got the seats we requested so used online checkin, and then we just dumped our bags off at twilight checkin the night before our flight :)

The whole process was pretty painless - although I re-checked everything I entered about 10 times before pressing enter LOL

We had e-tickets, and did 'online' check in.

We didn't get any luggage labels but things were labelled up at the check in desk :sunny:

We had to allow an hour to drop off our bags, and check in, at the airport but I'd strongly suggest you allow longer.
We ended up totally losing control of the time, getting stuck in traffic, and having to park in the long stay carpark, instead of the cheap 'shuttle' park which had already been booked, and paid for, due to leaving too little time on the morning of departure

Still, the extra parking cost was far better than risking missing the flight ;)

That sounds like a good idea i didnt realise you could do both!
I've never done either but it sounds like its worth doing - if only to avoid the long lines!! Thanks :goodvibes

Its def worth doing, when we did it last year there was no queue at all the bag drop off point but HUGE queues at the normal check in desks!!

We checked in online yesterday and dropped our bags off this morning (I'm in the Virgin Clubhouse Lounge as we speak!). We normally fly PE and, even when we're not, we can check-in at the PE desk because we're Flying Club Silver members. So for us there was no real benefit, but the queue for Economy was quite long. Pre-registering your API information was worth it though - I reckon that could hold you up.

We got luggage labels from Virgin when we went to Florida in January.

We also booked seats online and checked online before going. Another tip - get someone from home to check in online for you for the journey home, that way you can get to the airport later! The seats we booked online were given to us no problem.

We, too, used online check in. It was handy as it was just me and Mum travelling, and there are only handful of sets of 2 seats.

The only trouble is you can only check in online 24 hours before a flight, meaning that we couldn't do this for the return flight to Manchester.

We did, however, get the seats we wanted by using the DIY check-in at DTD, so we were very lucky!! :cool1:

I went off to find internet access the day of our flight home but, somehow, decided that I didn't have the energy to do the online check in if it involved inputting passport numbers etc

Lazy I know but we had to have the car back at the airport anyway and we can, luckily, bypass the long queues as Virgin have DH down as disabled so we check in at PE :thumbsup2

Just a thought though that online check in is an option - if you can find internet access :goodvibes

As I said - its easier if someone back home can check in online for you for the journey home. No worries.
