maybe because there are alot of room pay-per-view/location rooms at POR they dont permit loction requests. Many locations are bookable and that doesnt leave much wiggle room for requests.
If they could only accomadate a handful of requests and leave alot of others bummed, they may not opt to allow location requests. Seems differents resorts allow different request types.
It may be of benefit for you to call and make a request. I always make my requests at time of initial phone booking. it shows up on my only confirmation(original emailed) BUT not on my online reservation on the wdw website. I tested it again tonight through my saved email using their link to retrieve it and its still there. shows all the vouchers,mugs,mini golf etc that the resevation includes. it shows both my requests which are the same request 1 is location and the other is the block of room numbers id like if possible.
yes yes i know nothing guaranteed but it seems to work. i think room assignments are layed out before online check-in to be honest. iif they still have empty rooms that can accomadate online requests, they do their best to move you around....
IF you think you may want moved if you dont like a location they assign to you, then dont do online checkin. Check-in at desk and review your location with CM. Holding up the online checkin people doesnt do you any good because probably the person who is authorized to move you is over at the resort checkin line and its alot of times shorter.
