Okay so I have not flown in a while. The 5 of us are flying Boston to Orlando on Delta tomorrow. I got an email from Delta about online check in and that I could do it within the 24 hour window before our flight.

Question: Is there any downside to doing this? It doesn't sound like it but I want to ask the experts? I just check in online and print my boarding passes, then we just have to check our luggage when we get there? So it just saves the step of checking in at the airport? Our flight appears completely booked on the Delta website. Does online check in guarantee us we won't get bumped?

Thanks for any guidance!

If you have a seat assignment you are less likely to be involuntarily bumped. You will still have to go to an agent or kiosk to check your luggage.

We did online check-in with Delta in November and it was awesome, we checked our luggage at the curb and went straight to security. Have fun!!!

Thanks folks, I just did it! Printed my boarding passes and look to be all set!

Hit the self serve kiosks also, even if you checking bags...it as easy to use as an ATM.
