Online Check-In Vs. Notes on Reservation

So I already did my online check-in and I requested to stay on the second floor in Martinique at CBR. I read others saying you should add notes to the reservation. I called today and asked them to add it to the reservation that I wanted to stay in the Martinique section. Will that really make a big difference? How much more of a chance do I have to get what I am asking for?

As long as your requests are noted, either by Online Check In or calling, there's nothing more you can do to up your chances.

I prefer to call my requests in as what we like to request are not options during Online Check In.

It's so hard to gauge what you will and won't get because other than bookable categories (at CBR -- water view, preferred, king bed or pirate room) everything is just a request. Even within those categories everything else is left up to the moment you actually check in --- upper/lower floor. corner room, murphy bed if you are a party less than 5, which village ... That said last time we stayed there i requested (both thru on-line and a call to add on to my reservation) upper floor in Jamaica and we got both of those requests met and had the BEST room. I'm looking at a map of the resort right now though and since Martinique is where some of the preferred rooms are located there aren't as many left in the general pool for those who didn't pay that extra$$ Good luck getting what you want .. we loved the resort and I'm sure you'll be happy with your stay there!

Last time I stayed at CBR we faxed in our request with Touring Plans and noted them on the online check-in. We were requesting Martinique and I was thinking we were unlikely to get it because it was when the bridge in Jamaica was out. However, we got almost the exact room that I had requested with Touring Plans. It was awesome. We did the same thing when we stayed at Saratoga Springs and again got almost the exact room I requested with Touring Plans, it was just one floor down. In Sept. will be my third time requesting with Touring Plans but I have a few more requests based on who is going with me and while I know it is just a request, I'm hoping for the best!

We do have a water view booked, so I know we will at least get that. Keeping my fingers crossed for the rest

I booked and prepaid rack rate for water view and was put in a standard view. Didn't realize until I got to room. They didn't want to make it right. Make sure you have map and don't leave custom house until satisfied you have what you paid for.

I've done both noted on reservation and online check in and still never get my requests. I'm going to try fax next time.
