Online Check-in SS

Hi All,
We are travelling in less then a month- we have been to WDW many many times- but have never had a need to do online check in before. My brother will be landing in MCO about 3 hours earlier then the rest of our family- and will be taking ME to SS. Here are my questions.
If I check in online before we arrive- (we have a room only reservation)
1. Will it take the remaining balance out of the credit card on the day I do online check in?
2. Will my brother be able to go straight to the room when it is assigned and the room number is texted
3. We are Canadian-so don't get our MBs until check in- but he has other Magic Bands (from past trips) can he just use one of them to access the room once he has the room number?

I can only answer 1 ~ No. The balance is taken off (in a hold for the amount plus a bit extra to be safe) on the day you physically check into the resort.

I don't know how it works with this "avoid people and go to your room" thing - I have no desire to do that EVER.
