We are about a month away from our trip, and I noticed the link on the member site to do the online check in. I went through the process, but now when I go back to the "my reservations" page it's still giving me a link to do the online check in. Does that mean it didn't work, or is it just always there once your within 60 days?

Also, what are the advantages to online check in?

Also, when you check in online you usually do not have to wait in line to check in. They have a packet ready with keys info etc upon your arrival. Although the room is not always available until 4 pm just as listed on reservations.

The online check in link goes active 10 days before you check in.

But it did let me go through the process and fill out the info, make requests, etc..., and we are still a month away?

Thanks. So it can at least save some time, I'm always a fan of that!

Not sure why it would allow you to go through all of that. I'm going down on the 27 th of this month and like you the new web site links me to the page you first talked about. However, I have used online check in since being a DVC member 2 years and a link will pop up that takes you to give cc info etc. it does save time IMO. I will be checking in tomorrow so I can let you know if anything unusual happens.

Disneyworld, even DVC, now allows online checkin 60 days away.

Now, with the state of their website, the question of if it will work for you at any given attempt is up to the internet fates.

Also, whether or not you can do it through the DVC site YET is also with the fates. I had linked all of my DVC reservations to the main disneyworld website and did it from there, because at the time I was doing it they had yet to start messing with the DVC site and it was still pretending it was 10 days out. There was no option to do it when I was doing it, so I was glad to be able to do it through disneyworld.com.

OP, yes, it will always show you that you can check in. If you have already done so, it should show you that you can EDIT your choices. Every time I've done online checkin, whether it was at 10 days back in late 2010, or around 40 days for my recent trip (consisting of almost all DVC resorts booked on points), it will still show you that link, just in case you want to edit it.

Of course, Disney's IT being Disney's IT, they can't possibly create a PROPER page showing proper phrasing like "do you want to edit your already completed online checkin?" but instead freak us out by just having the link there.

I just did mine for two months out on DW website, clicked experience and it allowed me to do it. I printed page when finished, and still have option to online checkin, but as previously stated it's to modify cc or room requests now. The advantage that I see of doing so is there are a couple of room type requests to check and more importantly (if it matters to you) if you're arriving prior to normal checkin time there's the option to forego all requests for a specific room location and to just get one that is readily available on checkin. *if there is one ready*

Does anyone else has problem emtering credit card info on check in page?? I tried different credit card and none of them work, it keeps telling me to check the information I entered.

A little while back they were having problems when people entered (and this is sad) Chase Disney credit cards. So that might be it if that's still happening (or happening again), and you're entering in Chase Disney cards.

Or they are just having problems. Try on a different browser, different computer, try clearing cookies and cache and then doing it again, or maybe just wait until tomorrow and try again.

I had this problem modifying my check-in using the My Disney Experience site. I have my online check-in print out (done through the DVC member site), but I will have to enter a PIN number upon arrival to have charging privileges on my KTTW card.

We leave in a month, and I can't get the online check-in link to get to a full page of anything from any browser (I get a pretty Cinderella photo, but then a blank page). Very frustrating.

I finally had to go in through the regular Disney site, after searching for online check-in, and then linking up my reservation. I don't think I could even explain to our guests how to do it so they'll just have to check-in when they get there. What a mess.
