Online check-in process for those who have done B2B

Hello past B2B-ers!

We are doing our first B2B this autumn, and we are in the middle of completing the check-in processes. We have done online check-in for the first cruise, selecting Disney Cruise on the 'what are you doing after' options. It automatically had the Disney Dream (correct ship!) added and greyed out, so we seem to have done the first one correctly.

Now, my question refers to the second cruise, as online check-in opens shortly. Will we have the option of selecting a PAT, or will that be greyed out? If available, should we pick one or just leave it blank? I don't want to select the wrong option (if available) and find ourselves not getting the tiny benefit of re-boarding a few minutes/hour before everyone else because I made the wrong choice at online check-in!

Also, is there anything else I need to be aware of when completing the second cruise check-in? Or even the first for that matter?

I just did B2B out of San Diego last month. I don't recall regular boarding cards assigned for the people doing B2B at all. We were given a green card instead and showed that to get back on the ship. They had us all checked in again and waiting by the door before they opened security for the next batch of cruisers (I'm pretty sure, if not it was close). Then a CM came over and took us all back on to the ship again as a group, before anyone else even started boarding.

Sorry, I can't help with what to pick, if there is even an option, since I'm Platinum anyway and don't pick a PAT anymore.

We've done two B2B's, with the latest one last month out of Miami (4-night Bahamas with the EBTA). You will get an instruction sheet in your cabin on the last night of your 1st cruise with everything you need to know about the B2B process for your sailing. When doing the online check-in, don't worry about choosing a PAT (Port Arrival Time), even if the option is there, because you will already be at the port. Basically, you will be given an onboard meeting area to wait to be escorted off the ship, through the baggage claim area and customs, and then right back up to the terminal. There, you will check in for the 2nd cruise and receive new KTTW cards, Navigator, and your special boarding card. Jetskigrl noted above that they were given a green card for boarding the ship, we were given an orange card. However, the cast members in the terminal will let you know when you can board... just hang around the ship entrance area until they gather all the B2B'ers for boarding. Have a great cruise!!!

Thanks for the info. We’re up to speed on the process at the port, but glad to hear its still the same. Only thing that we never came across in all our research for this was the online check-in process. We are only silver (second part of our B2B will take us to gold) so we dont have the privilege of not selecting PATs... not yet anyway

Indeed. I think apart from the meeting time and place in the morning of disembarkation, the DisBoards, and awesome people like you, have taught us all we need to know!

Thank you, just what I needed to know! Since we are heading out of PC, I know the B2B normally wait in the conceige area until its time to go on.

Here’s another random question - if you did lots of shopping/win big on the bingo (we’re being highly optimistic ) on the first cruise, do you declare that when you go through customs both times (after 1st and 2nd leg) or just when you are returning and staying on land?

When we did our B2B Med./WBTA, we planned to see more of Barcelona on the "between" day. We left the ship around 9 am and came back around noon. We had all our documentation and passports with us and breezed through check-in. They gave us a boarding slip that had the current boarding group's number on it, so we walked right on. It helps to have the same stateroom for both legs of your cruises, so that you don't have to pack up. If you are interested in seeing more of the port where you switch, reentering the ship should go smoothly.

Yeah, no need for a port visit on this one, we’re staying WDW before and after! We’re only doing 4n/3n Dream. In the same stateroom, so no packing up in between

Just wanted to point out that you are not always given an onboard meeting area before debarking. We have done B2B 4 or 5 times and have never had a meeting place. We just take ourselves off, through customs and back up to the terminal. Our letter has always said be off by 9am or 9.30am (I can't remember exactly).

Thanks for that, it's good to know! I am just looking forward to a quiet, lazy morning without having to haul all the luggage around! At least on the first one! Of course, second time around, we will actually have to leave, sadly

We sleep in a bit & go to Cabanas for breakfast at about 8am (we have main dining, so breakfast at 6.45 isn't a popular option). Take our time. Then wander off and go into the terminal, check in and catch up on emails etc while waiting.
The second time around they do seem to want you off, quite rude really .

We are thinking of a lie in and relaxed breakfast at Cabanas, I think, especially as we will be seeing our dining room team again (all being well), so no need to go wave them goodbye that morning! Is there free wi-fi in the terminal at PC (we are Australian)? We normally have early PAT, so are running in, checking in and getting on board - never stopped long enough to check it out!

Cabanas closes early. I'm not certain of the exact time but it's sometime between 8 & 8.30.
There is no free WiFi. Vodafone here in NZ charges $5/day to use our plan. Since DH has a lot of data on his plan we use his hotspot and it only costs him $5.

Wow, that's really good! I don't think Vodafone AU do anything like that, but I will look into it. It's amazing how much bandwidth websites use these days; the free allowance doesn't last very long when three adults are trying to keep up to date! May look into getting an unlocked phone and US sim card when we arrive.

We just use it for email/social media. Our kids are 21 & 18 and they have a lot of catching up to do lol. It does help that most of their friends are asleep, so not a lot of chatting happens. DH has something like 14gb. As long as the kids aren't watching YouTube or something similar, we don't have an issue.
