Online check-in if you have a wait list pending

We're off to Saratoga Springs in 29 days. I still have wait lists active for possibly changing to VGF. However, I'm 99.9999999% certain those aren't going to come through.

Is there any harm to doing the online check-in at SSR, even though I still have those wait lists out there? (I'm thinking the worst case is that I'd have to do it a second time if someone dumps a truckload of pixie dust on me and the VGF wait list does somehow come through.) Thoughts?

The online check-in doesn't affect your waitlist in any way. The only thing you have to worry about is if your wait list does come through, you would have to do online check-in again.

There's really no advantage to doing online check-in at 29 days vs 5 days. Especially if you already have your room requests on your reservation. Why the rush?
