We're going in early Sept. Wondering how far in advance we can 'check in'.

60 days from your check in date. If you go to that area of the Disney website, it will tell you the exact date.

Speaking of on-line check in, what is the incentive or advantage to checking in 60 days in advance? Am I missing something?

It theoretically speeds up the check in process once you arrive. Also, once the Fast Pass Plus is officially rolled out you'll be able to make FP+ reservations 60 days out only IF you've done online check in.

Oh thanks, I was not thinking about the FP+ angle. :thumbsup2 I wonder why they want you to be checked in before you make ride reservations but not ADRs. :confused3

I have used the "old" system of on-line check in (a week in advance) a few times before and had good experiences.

Because there are lots of locals who will dine at Disney World but not actually go into a park. And others - I once was just staying in the area on the way to Key West and my in-laws and I had a nice dinner at Kona Cafe, did a monorail tour and then stayed offsite. And yes, for the parking gurus, we did it all within three hours.

*sigh* Not to get off track, but the more I hear about FP+ the more it seems like it will suck the fun out of my WDW trips.

I also agree. Bad enough you have to plan your ADR's so far out now you have to coordinate it with your fast passes. We were a select group that were invited to use fast pass plus last Sept. It was hard trying to figure out what rides at what times (it was only used at MK). It ended up that since we were there at rope drop and it rained all afternoon we didn't use any of the fast passes.
