Online check in for TWO reservations

It's a long story, but my fam of four is flying SWA under two reservations (me and our son on one, and my DH and daughter on the other). When we check in at the 24 hr mark, can anyone tell me if one check in will cover both ppl on the reservation, or do you have to get a seat assignment for each passenger separately? My DH and I can both be online at the same time checking in, but I'm just curious about the process. TIA, and my apologies if this question, or one similar, has been asked/answered a thousand times .

You will get boarding numbers (not seat assignments) for all of the people on the same confirmation. You can do one of the confirmation numbers and your husband the other and you will be set.

You will get two pairs of consecutive boarding numbers, one for each reservation, probably close to each other in sequence if you check in both reservations at the same moment. Depending on the flight arrangement, the number of people who bought EBCI, and how quick you are with your computer mouse, you may or may not be able to sit all in the same group. You can buy EBCI up until 36 hours before the flight.

When you type in the confirmation # all the people under that number will appear on the check-in page. MAKE SURE to click the box next to each name to make sure to check them in together. You can do this for you and your DS and your DH can do it for him and DD. You're boarding numbers should be fairly close if you both do it at the same time.
