Online Check-in for Renter of DVC Points?

This March will mark 2 years since we stayed at BW on rented DVC points, I don't remember the drill for online check-in or even if I can. Is this open to me to do? If so, how far in advance? We expect to be at the BW by 8 am or so, I don't expect to have a room ready for us, does this increase the chance that any location requests may be granted since I'll be able to tell them that we don't have to be assigned until much later, that we'll wait for what we want to come open?

Thanks for any info offered, I promise to write this down for next time.

Yes, you can do online check in as long as you have your reservation confirmation number.

I believe the site is www.mydisneyreservation.com/dvc. Online check in is available starting 10 days prior to your trip.

And, yes, I do think that if you arrive early and can remind them of your requests can only help if they are willing to change you from whatever room you have been assigned.

The online check in form is very limited and the only requests it notes is near elevator I believe... oh and You can note what your expected time of arrival will be...

Now when you arrive that morning, you can reiterate your other requests and they might be able to tweek it for you, but from what I can tell the online system doesnt care if you want top floor (or whatever)

In my experience, the BWV pre-assigns the rooms a day or two before arrival (and usually are not able to or won't make changes unless there is a maintenance issue of some type). Better to have your requests noted by MS on the reservation than to try to get something at check in.

We usually do the on-line check in process and sometimes we get our requests and sometimes we do not. Just like when we do not use the on-line process. Even when we don't get our requests, the room location has been OK. I know they try, LOL.

Lately there have been some issues with check in - apparently due to the new reservation systems. But those should all be worked out by March.

Good. Then you've done what you can re requests. If you decide to do online check in, you can just ignore the question on requests. Here's hoping you get lucky.
