Online Check-In and Hotel Account PIN?

Setting up Online Check-In for my parents, and I see that it says their "Hotel Account PIN" has already been set up. I've done all their trip arranging (they don't even know how to access their MDE) and I never set up a PIN for them. I see a note that says "To reset your PIN please visit your Disney Resort hotel Front Desk for assistance." Does that mean they need to go to the desk before they can use their Magicbands to charge anything to their room even though they have done online check-in?
 
Have they gone and stayed on property since 2013?
If so then they do have a PIN already. Whether anyone can recall it or not is another story.
My sister, my niece, myself, and my BFF all have the same PIN because we all stayed in the same room in December 2013. We've gone enough since then to all recall what it is and even when we don't all go together its still the same PIN.
You need the PIN in order to charge to your room using your magic band as well as use dining credits.
So if they don't have one or can't remember it then yes they will need to stop by the front desk and set one up prior to charging with their magic band or using dining credits.
