Online Booking - what points get used first?

Hello, We have two contracts at SSR, under one membership with some points banked on each contract from previous use year.

If I book online, does it used Banked Points first? Regardless of contract? Or does it book from one contract and then another?

And if I need to borrow points, what contract does it use?

We are trying to book BLT for July and my 7 month window is tomorrow. I know it would probably be easier to call, but I would like to get online and book at 8am, instead of waiting until 9. As of right now the site is showing availability for what we want, but I'm worried that by 9 am it won't be.

I should also mention, that this is a split stay. We have already booked 3 nights at AKL and then hope to move to BLT for the next 8 nights of our trip.

Thanks!

You will have opportunity to choose which contract to use first, Meech. And when you select a contract with banked points it will always pull those banked points first. It's really pretty straightforward and shows you all this as you are booking and selecting which contracts to use. I have 5 contracts on one membership and find it quite easy. You would also choose what contract to borrow from. YOU will be the one making those selections. Easy peasy. Good luck!

We have 4 separate contracts with the same use year.

Our experience is that if you want to use banked points from MULTIPLE contracts at one time, you need to call. They system is set up to use banked points and then current points from one contract before moving on to another contract with banked points.

I have had CM's tell me they could not use all of my banked points from 4 contracts at the 7 month mark. Usually, a Supervisor has to get involved. The system is set up to use "all" of the available points from one contract (without borrowing) before moving to a different contract.

Interesting, though I have had the opposite experience. I have chosen more than one contract with banked points and it pulled the banked points from more than one contract before dipping into the unbanked points from those contracts.

^Likewise. As long as we put the contracts in our chosen group for the reservation, banked points from any and all of them get used first. Our contract order simply determines which current use year points get used first after all banked points have been used.

Hi, just wanted to report back.........unfortunately I was not able to logon at 8 am that day. (Mom was NOT organized, lunches to pack, buses to catch. Those kids really get in the way of my vacation planning LOL.) I called at 9:15 and after an extended wait time I finally talked to Kalinda who was very helpful. I was able to book 7 nights BLT Lake View. She could not book 8 nights for me, saying I would have to call back the next day and they would add the day if available and modify my reservation.

Called back the next day and was not only able to get the 8th night BUT they were able to book all 8 nights for Standard View as it was now available!! Woo Hoo! :cool1:

Unfortunately, I have nothing to report about online booking, as I did not use it. But FORTUNATELY I was able to book everything I wanted by phone!

Thanks to everyone for their responses! I'm saving this thread for future reference.

Same experience here. When doing a complicated booking (using banked points from several contracts followed by current points from a specific contract) I always click the button to preview which points will be used and in what order and I'm always impressed at how smart the booking tool is!

OP: I'm glad you got what you wanted. I hope you have a great vacation.
