Online Booking System - ?

I have checked for a specific ADR online (wide range of times and dates) and the system says it is unavailable and offers other suggestions. Is there a possibility that I might still be able to get the ADR by calling the dining line or do they operate off the same reservation system? TIA.

I believe it's all the same database - I hardly think Disney's crack IT team could support 2 separate databases for dining reservations, they can hardly make one work!

So I'm guessing the database is the same and just the front end screens are different for guests and casts members.

I don't mean to hijack this thread but...

I'm sorry but do you have any idea what it takes to program and implement a database and online booking system like Disney has? It takes thousands of hours of work and a lot of testing. And there is no way to know what the system will handle until it is opened to the public. You just can't test that. I think Disney has done a great job implementing and maintaining this system. I am a programmer and IT professional myself and people have no idea what goes into this stuff.

OP as far as your question is concerned, your best bet is to call. The worst thing they can say is no. If there is no availability keep calling back. People cancel all the time

Chill - it was just a wise-(you know) comment. I also work in the IT industry and am totally familiar with what you're talking about. My company manages huge IT systems for many large commercial and government customers.

That said, Disney has some of the worst IT systems I have ever seen from a customer-facing perspective. So if you work for Disney IT, I apologize if I hurt your feelings. But I stand by my comment.
