Hello Everyone,

I'm just in the very early stages of getting wedding plans started. I was wondering if anyone would recommend buying the online book disney weddings: tying the knot at wdw thru yourfairytale.com ? Would this be helpful start ? Any input would be appreciated. I have the dvd from wdw and I am expecting a phone call on thursday from someone at wdw. :wizard:

I recommend it. However, if you are on this site every day like I am, you probably won't NEED it. I have this page as my homepage, so anything new that pops up, I know about it. (I also LOVE to research stuff on the internet-which helps) I have been planning this wedding for about a year and I have a little under six months to go. I bought the book, but I believe everything that was mentioned in that book has been brought up on this board in the last year. I don't know when your wedding is and I don't know how much time you plan spending on the internet, but I would definitely think about those two things. The only bad thing about the boards are that you don't get ALL the information at once. You have to wait until someone has an idea to do, say, a Mad Hatter Tea Party, to learn about it.
The book is very detailed and when I first started planning, I was so excited to have it! However, it does probably need a lot of updating-unless she has a newer version out.
Hope this helps! Good Luck and Welcome!!!

Thanks that helps. I have been trying to visit the dis boards at least every night to accumulate as much info as I can and that has really helped me so far. We are looking at sept of this year. I wanted to put together an overview of the whole thing first without our families input. I kinda wanted to present this as one of two possible locations. WDW being our first choice and my hometown as our second. I know ultimately it is our choice but we want our parents to be comfortable/happy too. :wizard:

I completely understand what you mean. My family was a little hesitant at first, but when I showed them pictures and told them about all the wonderful things we could do, they ended up thinking it was wonderful!

I wouldn't recommend the book if you are having an intimate wedding. I didn't find a lot of information that wasn't already available on this site.

We will be having a custom wedding definitely due to the number of family members we have and I really would like the WP and a reception at the American Adventure Rotunda. Does anyone have any recommendations pro/cons for the Rotunda ?

Thanks again :wizard:

I'm having an intimate in December, and we got the book. It didn't really have much in it that I didn't already know, BUT it had it all there so I didn't have to come back and do searches, or ask something for the hundreth time to get the answer I needed. The best though is it has tons of coupons in the back. We were able to get our money back on it with just one coupon. If your seriously considering a Disney wedding I'd say go ahead and buy it.

It's great! I bought it and read it cover to cover before our site inspection. It's a good way to get a feel for the prices and all the different things you could do for your wedding. I would say buy it! ALSO it gets you even MORE excited about your FTW!! (not like your not excited enough :earboy2: )

The American Adventure looks beautiful! But I did learn in the very same book that you are talking about, that in order to have your reception there, you have to have 100 guest minimum and the reception has to be held before/after the park opens/closes. If you meet both of those requirements, go for it!!!

We are planning on inviting about 110 max and expecting anywhere from 50-65 so I guess I need to look at some of there other reception sites. It sounds like I need the book.

I would recommend the book if you are having a custom wedding. There was a ton of info in it that didn't apply to my intimate wedding. However, by reading the book, I thought about changing to a custom just because of all the choices!!!
