Online ADR's: What about DVC?

. . . Like the fact that Member Services opens at 9:00, when general reservations opens at 7:00 (at least for dining). Why not open MS at 7:00 and draw some of the crowd away from general reservations? Or open both at 9:00.

Another option would be to have calls prior to 9 am transferred to CRO when you select the dining option.

In our LAST conversation with MS, the CM asked that anyone finding themselves effected by this, or concerned about this, should call MS. So far (according to a supervisor), we were the only people mentioning problems....
Also, to update, it looks like the system roll over has changed from 3 AM (which is what it was for the TA's when they were testing) to 6AM. That means that, should DVC members not have access to the system, it would "only" be an hour head start, not 4.

I think they can expect more people mentioning problems as time goes on.

IMO even if it was "only" a 15 minute head start it's still not right. If they can change it to 6am then they can change it to 7am - the same time that the main phone line opens. I'm not sure why they wouldn't just do that and avoid the potential for complaints.

My supposition (and it's only that) is that the 6AM time frame is to make sure the system is "rolled over" when the CM's go live at 7 AM. They want to give themselves an hour to make sure everything is in working order before the phone lines go up.

Which is fine...provided everyone has equal access. By excluding DVC members (and, incidentally, it looks like anyone booking through a Travel Agent, since their ressie #'s don't work, either)....that's a problem. And it's a problem that originates with Disney's "idea" to test only amongst Travel Agents, who would NEVER catch any type of problem concerning DVC members.

Uggggg - this makes me insane!! How in the world could Disney have completely dismissed DVC from its testing of this system? I *have* to believe that Disney will get the glitch relating to DVC fixed soon, but I have to make ADRs next week, and the last thing I want to do is deal with a system that doesn't properly work or that puts me to a disadvantage...when, given that I'm a DVC owner, if anything, the opposite should be true. :sad2:

Well, it's that "crack" IT team over at Disney! When I say crack, I mean I think that's what they are using when they write these insane programs! It's a case of the left hand not knowing what the right hand is doing! UGH!

I just saw this thread and am puzzled...

I booked Le Cellier for my upcoming stay in July... DVC points at Kidani Village and the system definitely recognized my reservation number... got the confirmation email on the booking :thumbsup2

I have a CRO ressie in August and the number is of course quite different but I didn't have a problem with my July points booking... I was thinking of adding another, so I'll see if I can still do it... maybe tech support worked out the problem??

You were able to book because you are inside the 90-day window.

Did you put in your DVC reservation and phone numbers and have the system look them up?

Are you inside or outside the 90-day window?

If you are inside, that would explain why it worked.

If you are outside, or at, the 90-day window then that would contradict what everyone else is experiencing.

Did you put in your DVC reservation and phone numbers and have the system look them up?

OK, I guess I only thought I put in my reservation number... senior moment :lmao:

I am within my 90 day window and just did another reservation online which also went through... But I wasn't asked for a reservation number :thumbsup2

I know how you feel...we have to make ours TOMORROW. Somehow, I doubt they'll have this fixed by then. Maybe they'll surprise me...

My wife is on a mission to get this resolved OR to get them to "make it right". We'll see what comes of that.

USING the new on-line Advanced dining reservation system (the one that went live yesterday?)?

You're well inside your 90 day, so you wouldn't need a confirmation number to book for July....so are you SURE it accepted your number?

It won't accept my confirmation number, at all.....

Edit: Just saw your response...and that explains it.

Question: IF you have it look up your ressie number, does it work? When you go to make an ADR, just above the date select, there's a link to "Find my reservation" or something like that. If you click it, enter your ressie number and phone number...does it even FIND your ressie?

One of the CM's told us the number wasn't working BECAUSE we were not within our 90 day window (which, FYI, I think is baloney).

No it doesn't recognize the number... so what the CM told you is hooie! ;)
I was able to do it because I am within my 90 day window, I'm sure.

MS IS hearing from others because I also complained, yet they told me that nobody else had complained.

The system will not recognize my reservation number under the Disney.go.com even though the 12 digit numbers are also supposed to be recognized (check the ? mark when trying to locate your ressies and you will see both the 9 digit or 12 digit are supposed to be found).

My window opens up on Monday (June 22) and while most of our desired ressies are not highly popular, we do want to have breakfast at Chef Mickey and I am afraid I might not get it. I guess I will go online for the day I am wanting it (with the 90 day window open) as I have read that people are getting ressies for things they were originally told were booked solid.

I get so stressed trying to make reservations and now it is even worse for DVC members.

Thanks, that's what we figured...but we had no way to test it.

I've a feeling we're going to get a similar answer today, when we get our call back, and no amount of us arguing that there are reports to the contrary, is going to convince them otherwise. Until someone (likely us, tomorrow) calls MS and can give them a ressie number, within the 90 days, that DOES NOT WORK...I would be shocked if they changed their tune.

GRRRRRRRR.........

Just another example of us and them. And believe me there is a difference.

Hopefully it will be fixed soon, until then Members will have to either call Disney Dining or Member Services to book theirs.

Which is what we've been doing for years and years (calling, that is.)

The system hasn't even been up for 24 hours yet. I doubt the DVC issue will remain unfixed for long. But we'll see...

Again, right there with you. And our date is tomorrow!

We have the Princess Breakfast, Chef Mickey's breakfast, and Le Cellier (though we have a backup for Le Cellier since that's like winning the lottery), but otherwise mostly unremarkable stuff like Boma's, Ohana's (which seems to be getting hotter, though), Jiko's, Saana, 50's prime time, and Hollywood and Vine. BUT, throw on top of that the fact this trip is for our son's 5th birthday, our youngest daughter's 3rd birthday, and our 10th wedding anniversary all rolled into one.....we didn't need this thrown at us a couple days before. :)

My wife is practicaly apoplectic with frustration and stress over this. She's the one basically making the calls (I'm traveling tomorrow, as luck would have it). She's bound and determined to get some sort of solution to this

This issue might be worth some e-mails to Member Satisfaction. They're the ones who would keep track of just how many concerns/complaints there are, right? I need to go dig up their e-mail address.

But, to be perfectly fair, doing so hasn't put us at a disadvantage (and yes, I know, 6 AM, new system...HOW much of a disadvantage we can certainly argue) to an alternative.

My doubts as to how quickly the fix is in stem from my (well, DW's reallly) interaction with the front line CM's at MS. Hopefully, the actual IT guys have more of a clue....and are just not communicating it to the CM's (or the CM's don't understand techie and are bad at relaying the message from IT). Because from the "telephone game" relay through CM, supposedly from IT, they have no earthly clue.

Let us know what she finds out. I called yesterday and the CM did not know very much at all regarding the online system or the issue with the DVC reservation number issue. She was able to find me in the system and did try to book Chef Mickey for September 21 "just to see" but it would not allow her to book. I don't understand why they can find the DVC reservations when calling but not the online system.

We are celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary while on vacation and I think we may not get the restaurant we want for that celebration, but we have several back ups.

Good luck to all DVC members

Slightly off topic...our 10th is September 23rd. Your 20th must (obviously) be pretty close to that!
