Online ADRs Thread (Updated FAQ 9/9/9)

I totally feel your nervousness. I'm in the same boat. .... I think when I log on this Sun, I won't even go for what I want on that first night, I'll just try plugging them important ADRs into days later in my stay. But I hear ya, my gut did flipflops, too...not a good feeling and it took some of the air out of my balloon, too. Sunday can't get here soon enough. I'm dreaming about booking my ADRs at night. ugh!

ABOSLUTELY...good plan to book for most desirous whenever they appear in your vaca'n. I'm going 9/27-10/6 and the ones I had most trouble getting were 10/1 and 10/2 at CPal, Chef M and Sci Fi (don't understand that at all, it's a day w/out Fantasmic too!). But I secured something for each of those, checked out, and then went back to fill in the rest of our trip. I keep checking for a better time at SciFi (best I could do was 1:30pm!)

I really think people are doing a LOT of double booking and not cancelling anything.:scared1: It's such a shame. If Disney has to change the system so you can't do it at all...we ALL lose. No one would want to cancel one reservation until they were sure a 2nd was secure. But...since the system was built to allow this flexibility...people are abusing it. We're hearing random tales of both (or more) ressies being cancelled, but based on the availability I'm seeing, it seems like that process should be stepped up!

This is a SLOW travel season, so slow they extended the free dining offer booking window to near the end of JULY. That's unprecidented (I believe). I recall when it was extended one year through June but I don't think it's ever gone into July...yet folks using it and planning trips the end of Sept into Oct are finding ADRs very hard to come by.

I'm just hoping as my 90 day (not +10) window approaches for 10/1 and 10/2 I'll be able to find some better times for 2 of my key venues.

How do you do that? I am about to make ADRs (window opens tomorrow morning) and I would much rather do it online, but I thought you couldn't with parties of 10 or more. Is there a trick to doing it?

Thanks--

Sorry, we were talking about the 90+10 day thing, not the parties of 10 or more.

Apparently I started making ADR's under our hotel reservation... but then I have a couple that are just under my name and not our hotel reservation. Is this ok? Will this cause a conflict with the DDP? I dont want to cancel the ones I already have made unless I have to.

If they are for diff't days and times, no biggie, don't worry about it. :goodvibes

However, if let's say, you're booking a dinner in MK and one in HS on the same day b/c you aren't sure which park you'll be in that day ...well, that's what everyone is complaining about and shouldn't be done.

Any UK bods tried this yet?

Do you need your Disney US ressie number?

Any issues with our post codes or phone numbers?

Update Your Profile

Are you an Annual Passholder and/or Florida Resident? If so, please add this information to your account profile so we can tailor your dining search.

Your 08/01/2010 - 08/15/2010 Disneys Port Orleans Resort - Riverside vacation has been retrieved and will be associated with any dining reservations you make for those dates.

To disassociate your vacation reservation from your dining reservations, click "Disassociate Reservation."
Hope this helps dave
PS
did not get dates for next year only 90 days from to day

You can make them yourself. If your res# doesn't work on the online system (and many TA ressies do now...mine does & I've read others say theirs now work...) you can call. Is there a chance the phone # you're entering isn't the one your TA used? That could be why it's not working...people are also saying their res doesn't work until their 90 day exactly...

That's what I was thinking too. I'll give it a couple of days for them to work out the kinks, and if I still can't get in early next week, I'll call them.

For parties of 8 or more you have to call.:goodvibes

Is anyone else having trouble using the on-line system?

When I try to put my reservation number and phone number in I get an error message that says:

"We are unable to retrieve your reservation. You may continue to make your dining reservations, contact your travel agent, or call 407-WDW-DINE for assistance."

I ended up calling and got through straight away, but did not get all the times etc that I wanted - so I want to check to see what else is around...but since it will not accept my reservation number it will not let me look at my +10 days!!!

VERY frustrating!!!!

Anyone have any suggestions?

Was your reservation made through a travel agent? If so, the system won't recognize it. You'd have to call.

Double check the phone number you used. If the numbers were transposed or something, they are using the incorrect number to verify. I had this happen to me. I kept trying and trying, and finally I looked my email verification and they were using an old phone number when I originally made the ADR's over the phone. Plus numbers were transposed. I also think that if you had ADR's running within an hour of each other, they will delete both of them. Good Luck!

I see you're in Australia - that might also cause problems if you booked through an agency there.

Unfortunately that also makes it rather expensive for you to call and check.

We used a travel agent as well, so I was not able to book online past 90 days exactly. But once your 90 days passes for your entire trip, you can go on and make ADR's without logging in with your phone number.
I made my ADR's on the phone, then cancelled/ adjusted a few of them online later using the reservation numbers. I was able to get 'Ohana online while the CM on the phone couldn't find anything for me, so it's worth it to keep checking.

Oh sure....two days after my ADR date I can finally log in and get my 90+10 days! :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: If I'm not mistaken, you had the same ADR date as me? At least I sort of feel included now! HA HA

I can't complain because I'm grateful for what I do have and did get because I checked the majority of them and there is no availability! Yikes!

On another note, when I logged on yesterday morning to check for a different date for 'Ohana, I was surprised to see a CRT breakfast there for 9/29 I think. We weren't looking for CRT this year but I know several of you are. I saw CP too, but again wasn't looking for it. So, keep checking like everyone says! :)

I totally feel your nervousness. I'm in the same boat. My ADR day is the 5th, Sun....so this past Sun I logged on to see what would be available if I were to be booking that day, but of course I could only check what was available the Sat before I get there, and for that day only since of course the +10 didn't pop up. Well....that got me completely prepared for not being able to get any ADRs I had wanted on that first night. It was good in a way because it's really made me rethink my plans and make many backups. I'm dreaming about booking my ADRs at night. ugh!

Well, I hope we both can breathe a sigh of relief when this weekend is over! Which ones are the important ones for you? Mine are probably Chef Mickey's and Ohana. I haven't read much about people having a hard time getting into the rest of mine (Narcoossees, Garden Grill, 50s PT, HDDR, Kona, WCC). Good luck and pixie dust!pixiedust:

I know! I made my ADRs the 30th...it was the next day or the day after that I read people's TA bookings were finally working. LOL At least we can "tweak" w/out calling now. :)

Thanks Everyone!

I will go back and check the phone number...but it accepts what I am putting in for me to check my reservation/make a payment:confused3

I did make the booking on line direct with Disney - I have not used a travel agent at all for this trip!

So very confused and frustrated!!:headache:

I would say definitely online since it's an hour earlier. Plus, you can see the options and quickly choose another date/time without having to tell another person, over and over. I got all my ADRs online and loved it. Was done in less than 20 minutes.

My ADR date isn't until this coming Saturday (July 4th), but I got online & was tinkering around with the system. I was only able to check a 5 day "range of dates" and only thru Sept 30th. Is this right? When I go to do the real thing on Saturday, put my confirmation # in, sign-on, etc. will the 90 +10 'window' open up?

I'm comfortable on computers and all, so I'm going to hopefully give this a shot & then just call @ 7:00 a.m., if need be. Just wanting to know what to expect...???

Yes, until you put your confirmation # & phone #, you can only see through 90 days (which is Sept. 30 today). Tomorrow once you put that info in you will see 90+10 and can book. If you get on at 6am, you probably won't have much trouble. It was crazy, I was so prepared and then I got CRT when I wanted, CM when I wanted, that it went so fast. Good luck tomorrow!

I had the same problems last weekend. I booked directly with Disney.
Even had the Cast Member double check my phone number and reservation number when I finally had to call for my ADR's. All of them were correct.
System just won't recognize my reservation number on the dining pages for some reason..One bug they need to get worked out.

I had a problem also. It decided to use my cell phone # from two years ago :scared1:
Now that makes no sense ??? They were using my home # for the reservation ????:confused3
