Online ADRs Thread (Updated FAQ 9/9/9)

The online ADR's is making it too easy to make changes! :happytv:

I have changed 5 dining reservations now for my trip starting next week. Just a little tweeking here and there, changing restaurants to different days, a little earlier, a little later, etc. (and yes I am cancelling my previous resevations).

It's a great system so far but I have had to reprint my plans and adr card 4 times already!

I wanted to get in and play around some today, but my 90 day window doesn't start for a few weeks. I did, however, put in my reservation number and phone number, and it wasn't able to retrieve it. I booked directly with Disney over the phone (bounceback while I was down there last time). Any ideas? Will it not pull up the reservation unless I'm at 90 days? :confused3

I got all the places I wanted and it was much quicker than waiting on the phone.:cool1: I did play with the system yesterday and was ready for today, but I did learn a little during and after my actual bookings. Thought I'd share what I learned.

1. I was able to make the reservations at 6am EST. Today was my 90 day mark.

2. If the time you want does not come up try modify search, change your time slightly and maybe a closer time will appear. If it's kinda close take it and then go back and try to change it later after making all your ADRs. I wanted Crystal Palace as early as I could get it. When I tried 8am, only 8:50am was available. When I tried 8:30am, 8:10am was offered. After I made all my ressi's I went back and played with this a little thinking maybe the 8:10am suddenly came available, but it was the same - 8:00am offered 8:50am and 8:30am offered 8:10am or 8:15am.

3. I booked CRT and in the end during checkout put a credit card # to hold res. I am on the dining plan and it showed that $0.00 would be charged to my card.

4. You cannot add celebration notes like birthdays and such until the end so get all your ressi's then at checkout there is an opportunity for this.

5. Most important thing I learned: They ask for the number you can be reached at during your vacation so of course I put in my cell#. When I went back later to look at my ressi's they were not there.:scared1: System said they couldn't be found:scared1:I panicked and called the number listed on that page. This was a tech support number and there was no wait time, got right through. I knew it was too good to be true, it had been too easy and now I was gonna pay by losing everything:scared1: Why didn't I just call instead of trying something so new:confused3

Well, we figured out that because my package was booked using my home phone, I was putting in my home phone when pulling up my dining ressi's, but when I put in my cell # with the dining confirmation # they came up.:yay:
So, my advice would be try making your ressi's on-line at 6am EST. It's great;)

Oh, in case your wondering, here's what I got:

9/17 - Coral Reef 6pm
9/18 - 1900 Park Fare 6pm
9/19 - Crystal Palace 8:10am
9/19 - CRT 4:20pm
9/20 - Garden Grill 5:40pm
9/21 - 50's Prime Time 5:10pm
9/22 - Ohana 6:45pm

Hope you all get what your craving from Disney dining:flower3:

Today is the first day I'm seeing reports of problems from CRO guests....but this is the 3rd or 4th one I've seen, today.

Somebody called Disney CRO, had them cancel (but hold the rooms for) their existing reservation, rebook it..and the new confirmation number worked. When the CM tried to enter their phone number on the original ressie, it simply wouldn't take it. On the rebooked ressie, it took it no problem.

YES, you should be able to pull up your ressie, even if you are outside the 90 days. At least you've been able to up to this point....

I made an ADR over the phone with a Disney Agent for Crystal Palace a couple days ago, When i went to check my ADRs online, this one is showing as not found,
I called in and they said it definitly was in the system!
Does anyone know why it would not show up online? Or anyone else having this problem??

You don't actually need to put in your reservation number if you just want to play around and see how the system works.

omg! I freaked out 2 days ago none of mine showed up. My temp was about 200 % . I called right away and they were all there. I aged a 100 years after that . LOL :thumbsup2 She had no answer as to why they didn't show up.

Thanks for the information...I had a feeling something might be amiss. I'll wait a week or so and see if it gets ironed out. After that...I'll give them a call, maybe they'll pull the rebook trick for me too.

Thanks, I was able to "learn" the new system, but not being able to pull up my reservation is what's giving me heartburn now. Just another very small thing for me to obsess over. :rotfl2:

Does anyone know if there is a way to cancel out our AAA without losing our ressies?? My agent basically sucks. She never answers her phone and I have been emailing her for over a month with no response.
Get her up at 6am to make adr's??:rotfl2:
And lets not forget I had to explain to her what an adr was, then I was the one who told her there was free dining. She told me they only do that every once in a while. I mean shouldn't she know a little bit of info on her job!?

This is exactly why I stopped using AAA - our agent was clueless on Disney and also on our first cruise we took years ago. We now have a great TA for Disney and for cruises. She goes to Disney more than I do and can answer 99.9% of the questions I may have right away. I originally went with AAA because they had the room discount on the package with dining but I found out quickly enough that the savings wasn't worth the hassle of having a TA that wasn't pro-active and clueless. I decided that going with a TA that KNOWS Disney is better then any discount that AAA was giving. Plus with any discount that Disney ends up offering it was better then AAA anyway.

Now I know this is not all AAA agents so you do have to ask the agent some questions to see what their knowledge of Disney is.

To answer your question you would have to rebook your reservation and then cancel with AAA but you can always call the AAA office and ask for the manager to see if he/she can assign a different agent to your booking.

You may want to check with the AAA office directly what their cancellation policy is and it should be written somewhere on any paperworkd you may have received. Some AAA offices charge a change / cancellation fee. If you have insurance included you will lose that as it is non refundable.

I was able get everything I wanted this morning, at the times I wanted, but was never ask my phone number. On the final printout I noticed it listed my home number and I was able to retrieve all my ADR's, and print them out. So do not panic if it does not ask for a phone no, it will use the phone no. you have on file.

Big Thank You to all the people who gave advice on how to use the online dining. Please excuse any spelling mistakes it is hard to type while a cat is walking across the keybook as you type and proof.

I had the same problem for my trip in December, I did not get the AAA discount anyway and could never get my TA, I rebooked thru Disney and then cancelled my reservation with AAA. My ARD day was going to be a Sunday and my TA reminded me that they don't work on Sundays and during the week they start at 9am so basically I would not be able to have her book until 1 day later at 9am!!! The only thing I won't get is the AAA storytime but last time we went I couldn"t schedule a time anyway. Hope it works out for you :sad2:

We are going to have to look into re-booking. Not sure we will be able to with the free dining going on. (we are booked for POP) We didn't get any discounts so that don't matter, but we would have liked the diamond parking. Although I don't think we really understood it the last time we went. lol
I will never use them again regardless, it stinks that you can't check your ressie online. And now with online check-in AND dining reservations it really stinks. I can't do either. It doesn't even acknowledge I have a disney ressie.

You can view your RESORT reservation online even if you used a TA. I can see mine and I used a TA but you cannot pull it up on disneyworld.com you have to go to www.mydisneyreservation.com/guest.

The disney reservation numbers with packages are 8 digits and start with either a 1, 3 or 8

Thanks
I just checked mine and it came up and my pkg starts with a 7. Am I to assume this is where I go to do online check in 10 days prior

Mine starts with a 7 also. It looks like we will be able to use this at the 10 day mark for check-in. Which is good!
Thanks happy99!!!!!:thumbsup2

Now to hope they let others in for the online adr.:rolleyes1

I'm glad to see I was able to pull mine up on the wdw web site. Without having the link above I was unable to find on the wdw web site so I have saved the link in my favorites for online check in but like you I have been unsuccessful in getting it to pull up for online dining. I had made my adr's on 6-13-09 as that was my 90 day. I was able to get the ones I wanted and for the days I wanted. However when online dining became available I was able to tweak my CRT adr on Sept 14 to an earlier time then called and verified the new time before cancelling the old time. I was also able to retrieve all of my adr's online by the conf#'s and I remembered the phone number issue. All the adr's I made by phone I used my home number and the one I tweaked I used my cell number and they all came up fine. Then I entered all my celebration info and saved. Then I copied/pasted in a word doc, then went into the doc and entered park hours and BBB and AAA Storytime conf #'s and I have 1 sheet of paper per day or 2 depending on adr's for that day.
