Online ADRs Thread (Updated FAQ 9/9/9)

Well, you can definitely double-book. Not only double, but quadruple or more. The only thing that appears is the message below, which is more of a reminder than a warning or roadblock. It's too bad they didn't create a three hour time-block before and after any other reservations.

Disney's message:

"It appears that 2 or more of your dining offers are within one hour of each other. If the offers are for the same dining party, please remove the conflicting offer(s). If these offers are for different parties, please continue with your booking"
While I also wish there was some way for Disney to stop the double booking, I don't think it would be right for them to block out sections of time either. What if your party split up and wanted to eat at two different places? What if you wanted a late lunch ADR at Sci-Fi for milkshakes and onion rings and still wanted to eat dinner at 50's Prime Time? Or something like that? It wouldn't work if they blocked out a specific time period. KWIM?

Exactly! I am just sick over this. I have 17 reservations to make for our trip and this just upsets me so. I might book with Disney and cancel with my TA if needed but I do not want to do that because she has already worked hard for me!

I would just have the TA do the ADRs and also try myself and see what happens. I am sure Disney will get it sorted out but as with everything Disney does with its websites it takes time.

I can access my ressie through that link but unfortunately that reservation number doesn't work for the dining. I e-mailed my TA to see if she could help so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Let us know what you find out from your TA. Mine unfortunately is in WDW at this moment so she isn't around to ask these questions. Good luck! I guess I will just be calling on Friday instead of being online.

With a CM in the reservations center and she seemed shocked when I told her Online ADRs was up and running today. She said tours and recreation will still be booked by phone.

Exactly - have your TA do them for you

It seems to me that you cannot see or cancel ADR's made by phone on the online system - at least I can't.

I can. On the Disney World site ( http://disneyworld.disney.go.com ), hover over the suitcase with Mickey ears in the top right where it says "My Disney Vacation" and then it's the last option in the drop down menu (under "My Reservations" it has "Resort Reservations" and "Dining Reservations"). Then you can pull up your ADRs using the confirmation number and phone number.

You might need to be logged into the site to see that menu, I don't know.

was up at 7am EST this morning on the phone getting all of our reservations. The CM told us then that the system would be online soon (she though days, not hours) and that we could look them up at that point. When the online system came up an hour later we where able to pull up our reservations just fine. I went ahead and double checked everything just to be sure it was all correct.

That's interesting, I'm going to have to try again!

Ok, I'm slow.

So, if I made my reservation through Disney and have my confirmation number, when it is my 90 +10 day, I go online, click on My Disney Vacation and scroll down to "Resort Reservations", then "itineraries" then "retrieve your reservation" and log in...that somehow "links" me to the ADR system to allow me to make the 90 +10 reservations? Or is there some other place you need to enter your resort reservation?

Thanks :) I'll try that.

Talked to my TA and she wil get up at 5am Eastern to do them. Maybe they will fix this before then and I can try also. I guess I am just a control freak. I would prefer to do them myslef online but that is not an option. UG!

In case anyone is interested (and maybe everyone already knew this), it appears that if your TA made your earlier ADRs online, you can access them online now yourself. That's what I'm doing now. You jsut need your confirmation # and phone #.

I think no one should panic yet! I have emailed my TA to see what the procedure is for guests booked through TA's and she has contacted Disney.
In typical Disney Fashion, they have not notified TAs yet!

My Guess is...that Guests booked through TAs will have a link to use similar to the link they use for Online Check in...or that the "computer ghuru's at Disney" simply didn't program it correctly. Either way, Disney is not going to leave a good percentage of their booked Guests without booking ability.

Seeing that this just went public today, I am not going to flip out! Nothing ever works properly when Disney first rolls it out!

Threatening to cancel reservations is just silly...it's like "no one wants to play my game so I am taking my toys and going home!" This thing has only been operational for a few hours and the TA's on this site are even saying they have no information yet! Put a little faith in your TA and let them find out what you need to do!

Everyone...take a deep breath and just let the bugs get worked out!

No, when you go to make your first reservation there is an option to link your reservations to your vacation package, and you enter your reservation number there. It's in the same part of the screen that you would enter the date/time for the restaurant.

Thanks! I was wondering since it would show me logged in and tell me I had 92 days until my vacation, but wouldn't appear to link up to the ADR system. Now that you pointed that out, its totally obvious and I can't believe I missed it!

I agree, thank you for words of wisdom! I am planning on calling Friday morning because who knows with this online system....I enjoy talking to a live person anyway! :thumbsup2

Well, perhaps the shoe is on the other foot now. For the past moth or so, those with a TA have had a head start on everyone else. They have been able to book when the day rolls over at 3 AM (or whenever) and everyone else had to wait til 7.

I've been concerned that they would be booking for hours before I could even try calling at 7.

Like I said, there are probably not that many TAs who would be waking up extra early to book ADRs for their clients - I think ones who are also DIS-ers would be the exception.

However, I think that now there will be MANY more people willing to wake up early or stay up late to book ADRs for themselves. So we really are at much more of a disadvantage than people were while online booking was only available to TAs.

Has anyone figured out if it is easier to book CRT online or on the phone? I was going to try and book lunch, but just wanted to know how I should go about it. ANy ideas?

Question - How early can you book for the 90-day reservation? Like, if my 90 day was tomorrow, when should I get up....or should I stay up late? Does the window open at 12:01 am that day or not until later?

And if anyone has booked really early in the am....please let us know.
