Ok, here is my question. If I make an online ADR how does Disney know that I am on the DDP? And do they need to know that for the ADR or doesn't it matter? I am only asking as earlier when I called to make some reservations the CM took down all my information (Resort, etc) and for the online ressies I only had to put in my contact phone number. I just want to make sure I'm doing everything correctly!:confused3

TIA!

No, they do not need to know you're on the DDP when you make adrs, online or over the phone. :)

They'll either ask you at the host stand or your server will ask you when seated- no need to inform them when you make your ADRs.

The only time they'll need to know you're using DDP is if you try to book CRT, Spirit of Aloha, or any other dinner that requires either DDP on your reservation or payment-in-full on your credit card at time of booking.

Whew! Thanks. Now I can quit worrying about that. I suppose when I called I did a CRT reservation but said I just wanted it on my credit card rather than use points for it, and then that's why the others were separate.......I am very relieved at any rate.

Thanks all!!!

They only need to know that you are on DDP if you want to book a prepaid reservation, like CRT or a dinner show. If you have a DDP on your reservation at the time you book, then you should not have to prepay the full amount. (If you are booking online it doesn't always recognize your DDP status though and you end up having to call.)

They need to know you are staying at a WDW resort if you want to book reservations at 180 days plus 10 days. That is a perk for resort guests only. That's the main reason why they ask you to provide a resort reservation number.

Otherwise, it makes absolutely no difference at the reservation stage whether you are on a dining plan or have a resort reservation or not.

Thank you. I've done a good job for the most part figuring out all the acronyms on my own, but couldn't get this one. I have boys so CRT is not on my radar. :rotfl:
