earned $2.45 from isay (FINALLY credited for the surveys from Feb 5th!)

So the new totals are:

$94.18 in quickrewards (which I will use to buy Disney gift cards)
$59.13 in credit card rewards (which I will use for groceries, freeing up the cash)

I haven't read all the pages yet but thought I would chime in with these:

I started transferring the coupon money we save at the commissary each week over into our vacation account. I do a transfer every week with the coupon total... from checking into that account. If I get a coupon for Pet Smart or anywhere else I do the same thing...and add that in. I keep track of the coupon savings in a notebook. It is kind of fun like a game to see how much we can transfer over.

I opened a Direct ING account a few years ago...now it is a Capital One account. I have a bi-weekly direct transfer amount that goes into that every 2 weeks from our checking. It coincides with my husband's payday.

We also have the coin jar thing too. We just throw loose coins in it...then when we are close to a trip I take it to our credit union that has coin counter.

I also started buying Disney Gift cards each payday at Target.

I feel like these are ways that are NOT hard to do....don't take a lot of extra time either.

Here is my total. Hasn't moved much in two weeks but I just realized I should have an extra $25 in my account. I cashed out swag bucks to paypal and then used paypal to pay for a comforter for my daughter. I didn't realize the $25 was in paypal so it was used towards the purchase. I could just transfer the money from my checking since I was going to buy the comforter anyway but I figured I would just let it go and use it towards the comforter.

stayathomemom77- You are doing awesome!!! I wish I got enough to be able to add to my totals daily. The only one I seem to get daily is about $1.00 in swag bucks. Most of the survey sites I used to do have been horrible lately so I haven't been doing many other than e-rewards.

I used to have the same kinds of problems...but then suddenly, I started doing really well on quickrewards. Having said that...this week has been pretty light on surveys. Not sure what's going on there. I'll keep plugging away at it and hope that some new surveys open up again soon.

We have one vehicle, which DH uses for work...so I don't drive it all that much. I pretty much rely on him to let me know about upcoming needs like oil changes, replacement filters, washer fluid and the like so I can add them to the budget.

He keeps letting me down.

I ran out to the grocery store Monday night and the change oil soon light was on. We always go to the dealership for service (my FiL works there) so I knew we were looking at about $50 oop which had NOT been allocated for this month. Yesterday I was pretty sure I was going to have to make a withdrawal from the Disney account but just after I had resigned myself to it...salvation came!!

Because our current residence is a new build, the gas company set us up for equal billing, automatic withdrawal for a year and estimated what they thought we would use. We've been paying for 8 months and I found out yesterday, we have built up a $250 surplus. So, we won't be getting a bill for a couple of months until that surplus has been used up.

I was able to set aside the amount for the oil change with part of the money that would have gone to the gas company this month.

I'm not counting on being able to toss any of the rest of it into the Disney fund at present, but if there's any left over at the end of the month...you know I'm going to do it!!

Another thing that came up yesterday was that April will be a month with 5 shopping and gasoline fill up weeks in it. I'm not too worried about the gasoline...DH is a faculty member at the local university and exams begin half way through the month. This will mean he will only go into work daily for the first two weeks of the month, sporadically for the following two weeks and likely not at all for the final week. So the gas money should stretch, but the $400 of grocery money may not.

I'll adopt the same principle as I have done for this month...if I get to the end of the month with any money left over once all the necessities are purchased...the Disney fund will increase by that amount.

Following along. Plan is to go August 2015. Lots of time to save up.

For me it's a challenge to start each week with a set amount of money for expenses and put away what's left. Since I hate making dinner, this encourages me to make more meals at home so I can have $ left at the end of the week.

Only two more preschool payments and DH said we can start putting half that away for Disney. He puts $100 in an account each month and coins. He will get a bonus next year (new hire, so not eligible this year). Between that and taxes we should be OK.

But I want to put as much away as I can, as a SAHM it just feels better to help fund my obsession.
