**I cashed out for a $100 Disney gift card from QuickRewards a week or so back and it came in the mail Thursday night. It was 2 $50 gift cards which I was annoyed about but since they did that to me last time (and they send me 2 $25 cards when I order a $50 card) I was half expecting it. They're currently still sitting on my desk here but I will squirrel them away with the other gift card shortly.

**I didn't know what to put for a savings goal for April since we only have about a week left, so for a nice round number I chose $300. It doesn't seem likely that I'll accumulate $50 in a week (frankly I'll be lucky to scrape more than $10 together) but I'm leaving it for now and I'll sort out May's goal next Saturday.

**I've put the PC points tracking back on the list. I'm going to be using $60 in rewards to get my groceries in the month of May, so technically my total is $60.18 but I can't count that sixty so I'm manually deducting it until I do manage to use it all up. The next five weeks are going to be hell in terms of budget and spending but I WILL stay strong and in control and hopefully get out from under so we can power save in June!

I made my goals pretty big for this month...May is a pretty spendy month so there won't likely be a whole ton left over to throw in either savings account and surveys can only earn so much. However, I'll keep plugging away at it to see how far we can get. It's a combined goal of over $500, which is a lot when one consideres I usually accumulate somewhere in the $280-$320 range each month. But Paris is booked and so is my 5K Disney run, so I NEED to make both of these trips happen!

**We are in full on frugal mode right now...got the Paris stuff cleared off of the credit card, but it took a big chunk out of the available monies for the month of May. I am trying REALLY hard not to borrow against June (because it has its own expenses and you never know what might come up unexpectedly) so we are hoarding every dollar as much as possible. The good news is that we have made it through one third of the month and we are doing okay...the bad news is that the two vacation accounts are really suffering.

**I am HOPING that this crazy conserving that we are doing now will mean that we will make it to payday--May 30th--with some excess money...I will toss everything I have left into the vacation accounts on the 29th. Until then, it's going to be mostly survey and credit card earnings with a small amount of silver change added to the Paris jar when we do make cash purchases.

**We couldn't see our moms this past weekend as DH had to work at an event on Saturday and they live several hundred kms away from us. We will be travelling this weekend to make up for missing Mother's Day. It will mean going over budget slightly on gasoline (I have a proviso for that) and we are packing Friday night's dinner so we don't have to waste money on fast food. I will have a few dollars in cash for an emergency caffeine fix for DH (as the driver, he sometimes has to get something on the way back home to stay alert) but otherwise we shouldn't need anything out of pocket.

I tried to book part of our Disney trip this week...and met with crushing disappointment. I went through David's and had a good experience with them...the resort I wanted was fully booked for the dates I wanted, so they told me what was free and we decided to try for a savannah view studio at AKL. All was a go and they tried to fill it for me but they couldn't find anyone with the points able to book it for us.

So disappointing!! We could have had them keep trying but we decided to get our deposit refunded and just try again in a few weeks when we are within the seven month booking window.

Does anyone have any experience with Old Key West? It was also available for our dates (and much cheaper too!!) and we're not AGAINST staying there...but we rented points once before for AKL and absolutely LOVED it, so DH is really hoping to book there if at all possible.

I guess the fact that it couldn't be booked just yet is actually a blessing in disguise because I don't have enough right now to cover what it would have cost us and it's already uncomfortably tight this month. I'll try again in June and see how it goes.

We do have a backup plan...but hopefully everything works out for our first choice!!

I think I've read some reports and thought that OKW looks nice...I'm also looking at renting points for a possible spring break trip, but then the practical side of me says an offsite condo with more space makes sense, with having a little one and all. I like the idea of the Disney transportation, but the monorail resorts are sooo expensive, and so trying to get an idea of how long buses take at the others

Busses can be hit or miss. It depends on a variety of things. We've never waited longer than 20 mins for a bus and AKL (which I think is the farthest resort) gets you to all the parks in 20 mins or less (travel time). We usually drive down for our trips, park the car in the lot and forget it until it's time to leave. We bus around everywhere (and did it with strollers back in the day) and have never had a problem.
